installing ext lighting on 7/8" vertical corrugated siding

We are searching for a method or mounting block for installing exterior sconce and electrical rececptacle on 7/8" vertical corrugated siding .. this is not pbr panels, but actual corrugated siding .. thanks for any advise!!

Our siding will be installed vertically .. so, looking for a way to mount exterior wall-mounted lights and exterior electrical receptacle box. Thank you.

A lot of ways to intall lights on corrugated siding. Best to get mounting block/plates made for this situation that when the siding is cut it finishes the edges and gives you a nice look because it is done with the same material as the siding. Look online or call the supplier of your existing siding and ask if they have colour matched mounting block/plates for outside lights. Most do.

Thanks for the recommendations, however, it is the Mounting Blocks that I cannot find .. which would fit with corrugated siding. Good suggestion though, I will try contacting the siding manufacturer and see if they offer them or can give me a lead .. one thing I hadn't considered when choosing this siding, was the complexity of mounting lights to it ..

Some mount the blocks on the sturcture BEFORE they install the siding and then cut around them.

You can simply install an outdoor electrical box cut into the siding and use some left over J channel from your siding to finish the edges. Then make sure you install a rubber seal from the light to weather protect it.

Follow Dark Sky Principles for exterior lighting. The first photo of barn lights would be appropriate as the light shines where it is needed (in front of the garage) and downward. The second would shine outward into the yard where it isn't needed but not above/near the doors where it is. Third would shine outward and upward which is particularly undesirable.

.. always, yes .. I will use a down-light .. and it will only be used as i go to & from in darkness .. not leaving it on all night ..
