I think that vanity will look dated fast. And the wainscoting and that vanity are going to be too much look.

How high are your ceilings?

You have that great pattern on the floor in adjacent room, so a color in the powder room could add drama without competing. The paint color above ( and btw the paint visualizer is solely responsible for the paint-all-over-the-place-sloppy-paint-job) the paint color is PPG Grape Haze. And now I can’t get Purple Haze out of my head... :)

I would just leave everything as is and bring in a color. Drama + Fun + Easy.

I'd want something that can "ignore" the laundry room, and I assume if you had dinner guests, you might close the laundry door anyway!: ) If I'm papering? I want it to last, and water splash , no issue. A lot of texture, and ageless. dressy or casual as you wish

There is no association between the two rooms, other than they're adjacent, and when the doors are open? You see them simultaneously. They don't share activity, right? lol thank heaven

As with all rooms? It is what you do AFTER paper or paint. Note? Seems either could suit a kitchen concept you saved? with a shared flavor.

I'm wondering if your goal is to add storage with a vanity or is that just part of the change? If you don't need the storage, then I agree that painting the walls really adds a nice change to what you have there.

I like a chunkier pedestal sink in a PR so paper cloths can be put on the ledge for guests (and then I remove the handtowel) - if it were me, I find a wallpaper or dramatic paint color I loved and upsize the pedestal sink (def cheaper than a new vanity) as well as the mirror (seems small for the light) - any storage needed, I'd tuck it in the laundry room
