It is fun to see how things are doing late in the season.

    The Good

    Wave Runner

    The Bad

Lakeside Spellbinder, I think I will separate it next year and see if it grows better in a different spot.

    The Downright Ugly

Also the same as yours Debra, Designer Genes. This has not looked good all season so after I took this picture I dug it up and potted it up. The roots looked good so I am not sure what the problem is.

Radiant Edger has good substance and looks pretty good. i split this into several smaller pieces to line the edge of a bed, and this is beat of the bunch

Liberty has certainly looked better - pretty beat up this year

This is my NOID yellow, and it’s UGLY this year. Extreme heat and weeks with no rain have battered many of mine.

I can’t stand to end on that note. Here is Moulin Rouge, purchased this year from NH Hostas as a plug - look at her go!

Debra and Beth, I am not surprised to see Designer Genes hasnt performed the best for you. Mine left the garden a long time ago, was always a disappointment. I wonder if it is not suited to our climate or just a poor performer.

My looks good in the spring through July and then goes down hill:

Debra I don't recall seeing Speakeasy before. I do love a ruffled edge, very nice! The good ones are looking so good! We are about the only group that shares their bad ones.

Dinner Mint is a favorite. It looks good all season and flowers late. I should have taken a minute to tidy up dropped petals and taken care of the weeds but I did these pics on the run.

Lipstick Blond is the only one that gets chewed.

Rainbow's End really took a beating in the heat & drought.

Laurie, I love that little Dinner Mint…..been eyeing it for a couple of years. Does it do any sun, or strictly shade?

Debra it is on Don Rawson's sun tolerant list but I have it in morning sun. It is very happy there and because I do not water the garden it will stay where it is. I hope you ger it one of these years! It is an outstanding performer.

Beth I have always been smitten by Wave Runner.

ig Radiant Edger is such a cutie.

This Moulin Rouge was a plug I received this spring - look at those roots!

Wow!! IGG, which vendor was that?

New Hampshire hostas. I bought several plugs this year, and some were amazing. A few others not quite so vigorous. I’d say about half of the plugs will have to hold over to next year, and half are vigorous enough to plant now.

My garden is suffering, even that we had mild rain it did not help much. Am feeling blessed having my own well/ we are

on public water for the house. Watering like crazy and feeling not making a dent. But not letting plants going into winter stressed is crucial.

    My best looking streaker

Gunther's Prize is trashed but has few seedheads. It usually not that interesting as a breeder I hear.

High Voltage, assumed tetraploid. Looking fantastic.

    Mustang Sally is pristine,
