Flat Panel shutters

Looking to find vinyl shutters like the ones in this link (click where it says Flat Panel shutters). I bought the PVC ones and they started warping. So want to stick with vinyl this go round. Anyone know where I can find ones like this in vinyl? Thanks in advance!

First we need to see your house . IMO often shutters are not a good choice for many homes. vinyl and PVC are plastic both will warp if in a hot place . Maybe what you need are wood ones that will require som w upkeep down the road

I have not seen a company that makes a quality "flat" panel shutter. Raised Panel, use Cellwood, now owner by Plygems (yuck).

Show the house! For all you know.......it needs NO shutters!

Have them made, they need a crossed fixed metal brace on the back to avoid warp.

Ps.. You have no LINK : )

I would just bite a bullet, do Timberlane in wood, put a cap on the top to avoid water seep. Yes they have the style you want.

Basically a 2 panel shaker, and will customize.

At the risk of being declared blind....where are the pictures? None here.

You have to wait for photos to clarify, lose the grayed effect before you hit submit. Or they will not post

    ANSWER..........

    No, No, and NO!! Nooooooooooo!

( Are you certain you posted the correct home?: ): )

    Not the ISSUE at all,

Paint the trim, and and add land scaping and hard scaping. Forgive the art.

I'll wait for my peer group to laugh.

    : ) Toe tap here for @Millworkman

And again...............................context matters! Lord, help us help you! Nothing, and no question, lives in isolation!!

No shutters of any type. Most of your windows are not the type for shutters (round tops would need as well to look correct) and the home style does not really call for shutters. My opinion.

Add not enough room for a remotely appropriate size....

@JAN MOYER I appreciate your mock up. But your drawing includes me painting my brick, my trim, getting new windows, and changing out all of my hardscaping and landscaping. Just isn't in the budget as of now. :) Unless I am not interpreting your drawing correctly. And I get that all of that stuff would give my house a better presence. Just hoping for some cheaper and easier solutions.

Also, my neighborhood has houses with the same style. Some have shutters, some don't. I will take a pic today of one that does and upload. I feel like there is room......but curious what y'all think.

The house that you posted has incorrectly sized shutters. Shutters should look like they are functional -even if they aren't. Also, there is an arch above the window = the top of the shutters should be arched. The shutters should look like - if they were closed - they would cover the entire window (including the arched area) perfectly. The ones on the house in the photo do not look correct/nice.

No shutters. Spend money on colorful flowers and flowering bushes. Your house is lovely as is. Your neighbor’s house with the shutter looks forced.

Shutters sure get a lot of passion on this site!

My house has shutters. They break the rules, but since there are holes in the steel siding, they are staying for good. Plus, despite it all, I like the shutters.

But, oh the upkeep! The shutters need painting, or a single shutter blew into the next state during the windstorm and you have to find a match to the 30 year old shutter , or ...(the list goes on!)

If you have such a lovely home (as you do) and shutters are not necessary, save yourself the headache.

@J from Lakes Country - many houses look great with shutters. This one doesn’t inspire them. Colonials and symmetrical windows often look better with shutters.

    Exhibit A.

My house is a 1990s colonial, but the shutters break the rule that they should cover the windows if the shutters could be closed. I can live with it:)

Seems like all of the shutters in my neighborhood break the shutter rule. :) But guessing that rule is really for houses that in are areas that have hurricanes and the shutters are actually needed to be able to close to protect the windows.

@JAN MOYER- I feel like your mock up works because the house in your pencil sketch seems more whitish-gray (mind has almost pink undertones) and then the trim around the windows, trim at top of house, and doors are all that gray color. I can't paint around my windows. Unless people paint the window trim? Which seems like it would be prone to flaking, scratching, etc. I guess I just don't feel like my house can become the beautful house in your sketch. Without a lot of time and money. And with the hardscaping we have, we are limited to what we can plant in front of the garage. There is only so much space, and those that have tried to do trees end up having an overgrown tree within a few years that is smashed against the house and growing over the sidewalk. And we have sooooo many deer. So are pretty much limited to barberry, boxwoods, grasses, etc.

So guess was hoping I could add some shutters and up the game with the presence of my house. But perhaps shutters are not the answer. Cue the crying.

Look, the shutter police are not going to come, and nobody is coming to measure. The rules are broken all over the USA in a million developments, by builders!

That said? Landscaping is like having a baby, it needs a bit of time.

You don't just call a garden center and say DO me! Good landscaping means to allow for growth. Not all slammed up against the house,

    Everyone drools on something.

Carry me out of this in a pine box : )

Your local garden shop might offer free landscaping advice if you buy the plants from them. When I moved from the Northeast to TN, I had no idea what to plant. The local landscaping place gave me a design and suggested appropriate foundation plants.
