Has anyone used Ocean Blue quartizite also known as Elegante Blue on countertops? We are remodeling our master bath and have 16 linear feet of cabinets and 5'x8' shower stall and I would like advice on color to paint the cabinets and color for shower /bathroom floor tile.

Where is it going? In a remodel? In a new build?

It's lovely! but above matters just as much. It is to be perimeter and an island? Just the perimeter and a peninsula?

Please add more context to your question, because the kitchen that matters is YOUR kitchen. Why tile? Climate issue? Or a remodel and that is what you are used to having in the kitchen? If a remodel.....what is the flooring in the rest of your home? If a remodel show your kitchen...: ) as it is now? If a new build...? Tell the details....

No matter who may or may not have used it, what really matters most is you.......and yours.

( I see in your posts from years pasts that you definitely favor blue, but beyond that, tell more and more help comes your way)

IMO white cabinets since blues are hard to get right when next to each other . BTW that is the star I would not do it with a 2 toned cabinets at all and it will be hard to work with as only the island since the peremiter top will be hard to find to coordinate . As for floor IMO if you have wood next to the kitchen do wood to match

That is a lovely slab. I'm sure it will dazzle in your bathroom. I would probably pull from the slab either the darkest blue and go a couple shades darker for your bathroom cabinets, or use a creamy white for them.

Wood floors are a big no in the bathroom for the most part. I would not do wood floors or even simulated wood. I would go with a tile, probably a creamy white, pale grout. LVP can be a good option for bathroom floors too, and come in a lot of options. If you are thinking about a heated floor, that has it's own thing about how it gets laid out and covered up.

The shower stall can have more color play. 5'x8' is a good size. I would suggest a smaller tile for the floors, something with a bit of grip to them. Larger tile for the walls. Do you plan on having niches built into the shower walls or a bench built into the shower? Want to play with a mosaic of blues for the walls, or maybe mostly creamy white with blue accents or borders to the shower?

I know I've been saying use a lot of creamy white for your bathroom. I think I would want that counter to pop. You can add in color with things like your bathroom linens, art, soap bottles, and so on. If you want more, you can do colored knobs on your cabinets.. maybe the trim on your mirror(s).

And since you say 16 linear feet on the counters and a 5'x8' shower... I'm assuming it's a pretty big bathroom. Make sure you get a really good bathroom fan or fans to accomidate that space.

I'd find a blue quartzite that has a bit of brown in it and get wood cabinets. I don't like the look of the a solid colored cabinet with a stone that has so much movement. It feels very one and off to me - loads of movement and then flat color. You need a look that celebrates the complexity of the stone, not one that is just acceptable with it.

These baths might not be your style, and the blue stone might not be the kind of blue you hope for. Still, they are good examples of wood with blue quartzites where the design as a whole supports the grandeur of the the stone. Notice they all bring the stone up the wall even if just for a small splash.

I remember a post on here (from a few years ago) where someone used Ijen blue quartzite for her kitchen with wood stained cabinets - and it looked amazing, So, while I was trying to find that post + find some photos of ocean blue quartzite with different color cabinets - Kendrah posted the above comment re: using stained wood cabinets!

So - without repeating the same three photos that she used above - here are some others:

I think that your ocean blue countertop would look amazing with a stained wood vanity.

However, here are some other photos of your specific countertop with other cabinet options:

This photo below is of the same kitchen as in the above photo - but I wanted to show you how it looks on the stained island.

Dark navy cabinets would create a more moody look vs. using an off white vanity.

Below is a lighter blue that is matched from the ocean blue quartzite:

A couple more stained wood options with an ocean blue slab:

The stained wood provides a rich/luxurious feeling that works well with the beautiful slab that you've selected!
