We need a tad more info please . Have no real idea of your style, or how many seats you need. MY yhought would be no rug the space around the table needs 3 ' all the way around for chairs to move in comfort and so thta is one big round rug. I actually do not like rugs under dining tables so get nice chairs and be done . If you want to take the eye from the floor get a color for the chairs but a bit of an idea of your style and colors you already have .

Is the base of the table as orange as it appears in the photo?

Is there a light fixture over the round table?

Is the table placed correctly in the area for dining?

I would not add a round rug to the area.

Is there 3 feet of space from the edge of the table to the wall? If not the table is too large for the area.

There are scores of great dining chairs available, but most are not offered in a finish that works with your table base.

Thank you everyone! wNo there is no light fixture yet- I need help with that one too. There is nothing really in the room yet. It is a huge room. Ideally, the chairs would be $200-$350-ish..(less the better as long as the chairs are relatively comfy!) we still need to do a lot in the house! Yes, the base of the table is that orangy wood color...interesting one of you mentioned maybe painiting it black, that crossed my mind before! This is a Serena and Lilly Table. It can go anywhere on this end of a huge room, so there is plenty of room if we do a large rug under it. Please send any links and I will order and be done! (would be nice to be able to sit in them first but..)

Maureen, I like the chair you shared, the ones from Wayfarer, but aren't they complicated to return? Wayfarer? I just need to be sure they have some padding and not like a cheap rock. I am hoping to not wait, to just find and pick up practically! Thanks all, so many good pictures. I wish we had a Rove Concepts in Orange County, CA! A Little black does look good with the veining of the table.. If I can't sit on the chairs, then I want easy to return and in stock! Maybe even Macys, Target, regular funiture stores like ones in Irvine/Costa Mesa Area.. We are a family of 5 but I guess I should get 6.. I did want all of them to have arms which greatly reduced my options, without arms there are many options just need to pick one that looks decent and move on! What would you do? Can you find in a local easy to return type store..World market, anything!

Thanks ThinkDesignlive and grapefruit! I ran to World Market tonight to see the Freda-split back, believe it or not, I think the black looked really nice. I feel like black brings out the beautiful veining of the table. The saleslady didn't think that style chair rather more regular looking backed chair.. maybe I'll bring oneor two home tomorrow and post a picture. Also, as far as lighting, we have no lighting in the kitchen, it is all windows(12 foot picture windows to maximize ocean view) and some can lights, I'll show you a picture soon. I didn't want to take away from the views that we paid so much to get (we even have just a backdraft vent so no hood to block openess/views..I'll post a picture later!) although now we need drapes, the sun and brightness is a nightmare! Stores near us are Mathis, Scananavian, Macys(has a ton online but charges restock if we order without sitting in it first!), Ashley, world market, target, home depot lowes would be easy returns and has tons of the brands online.. I don't envision getting a rust or orange tone one. black or light color possibly but prefer neutral or black.. thank you!

If you're contemplating having a rug, I would get that first so the chairs can be selected to compliment. Probably easier to do if the chairs are black-framed or a solid color.

You have better furniture selections in your area. There is a small design center in Orange County, so you can sit in some better quality chairs. Also look at Cisco furniture. They probably have a store closer to you.

I bought good quality upholstered dining chairs 25 years ago and still love them and use them in my dining room. I had them reupholstered once when I changed up my overall design. If you aren't the type of person that changes with the wind or trends, then invest in better quality chairs.
