After I posted this I found several discussions about Canadel here on Houzz. Seems like Canadel was a good product years ago but not recently. I’ll have to keep looking.

Youll need to pay 10x the price of junk like Canadel.

We just bought a set at Raymour & Flanagan. the table is very nice (we got 2 leaves, one is self storing) but the chairs are very uncomfortable. there is no plate underneath the foam and you can feel the chair’s frame under your thighs after sitting on them for more than 5 minutes. Their customer service/delivery was excellent. our salesperson set up a service call. I didn’t think there was anything they could do but he understood the problem, took pictures and said to wait to see what customer service will do…maybe order new chairs. but it they are all built like these were, it’s useless. At $400 a chair, they should be comfortable!

I just purchased two dining , one for kitchen and one set for the dining area in my open floor plan Florida home.

I went with Pottery Barn. Lots of options and very sturdy. I'm more than pleased.
