Mirror Size? Planning Sconces

There are 57 inches between the towers. I am planning to have wallpaper and sconces- please advise a recommended mirror size! I’m getting mixed reviews.

  • thank you!

No sconces, full width frameless mirror with Led lighting above. I do not think you have room for sconces and honestly I would most likely eliminate the towers as in my opinion the do not add anything looks wise and actually block the functionality. Definitely no wallpaper.

IMO too small a space for all of that. Where is this ? What is it for ? Waht will a mirror reflect. Most of all post a real pic of the real space

Not a pro but i’d be tempted to have the mirror the width of the sink cab, then center linear sconces on each of the drawer base cabs - or you could mirror the whole area and float the sonces thru the mirror

It’s a pool/guest bathroom, unfortunately still under construction so no actual pic of the space yet :)

Towers are allowing for extra storage that is needed

No sconces, full width frameless mirror with Led lighting above.

I was going to say much the same thing:

    - Run the mirror tower-to-tower /no frame. This'll maximize your space and will look simple, calm, functional. A larger mirror will reflect more light back into the space and will allow a person an easier, more complete view of his or her outfit /not just his or her face. So I guess I'm recommending a 57" mirror.

    - I'd take away that piddly little 4" backsplash and take the mirror all the way to the cabinet.

    - LED lighting would do -- but also consider pendant lights.

    - I don't love the two towers. They make the sink feel cramped, claustrophobic. I get that, given that it's a pool bath, you likely need lots of towel space. I'd consider ONE larger tower instead -- one larger tower will cost less and will eliminate the cramped feeling.

Its math. You want the towers........you're adding wall paper and how much? Just behind a mirror? How? Do the towers with crown meet the ceiling in the bath? What will be the finish at the top of the paper, if not?

It isn't the fact you want the towers...it is the bulk of full depth towers above counter top height that bothers me. Unless you are papering the whole room? I see no reason for a paper at all.

I understand the want of storage.....

    Here's a different way..

Step the towers back to nine inches which still contains plenty of junk ..............see how all meets the ceiling and the flat trim RETURNS to the wall below? ( 90 inch total vanity ) and its lakeside and those drawers hold a TON.They're set on a base, WRAPPED in counter material, which prevents the wet from destroying cabinet sides. All four sides of mirror are trimmed....

Switch trim to a flat stock, , better suited to a shaker door . In any case, skip the paper, and that's your best mirror UNLESS you mirror the entire space, which will still need a return to wall of that trim, and put the sconces thru the mirror.

If the rest of the room is being papered I vote for Jan’s last suggestion (not drawn) which is the full mirror with sconces mounted over the mirror.

    !! ^^^

Remember, any paper in the remainder of the room....will be reflected in a fully mirrored space.. Paper installed as accent only behind a mirror will be visual BUSY BUSY. and visually very distracting, rendering the paper in that spot, ...pointless: ) in any scenario.

I agree with other posters - full width and full height mirror without sconces and wallpaper.

It's a pool/guest bathroom. I wouldn't think you'd need a lot of storage unless your guests are staying for an extended period of time. Towers aren't necessary, and eliminating them will give you a lot more freedom to add a good-sized mirror and sconces.

I would think the ‘pool’ part of the guest bathroom demands the needed storage for towels.

Is there a closet in the room for towels?
