Your original pendants were not hung at the correct height. Too low to the countertop.

The success of the new lights depends on the style and proportions. Not sure why you are selecting brass when there doesn't appear to be any brass in the kitchen.

Keep in mind that if you select a brass fixture, the light will only shine down on the counter and not be dispersed throughout the room.
