I saw a neighbor who keeps her hair blonde and her dark brows seemed to stand out too much. Have you played with various shades of eyebrow pencil to know what look you prefer?

Another 81 year old here. My hair is probably 90% white but there is still some dark underneath to give it dimension. My eyebrows are still about 80% dark brown (look black) with sprinkling of white hairs. I have some eyebrow powder that's dark gray. I get some on a brow brush and barely touch the white hairs so that they blend in more. Nothing gets on my skin. I used to use a little taupe Elf pencil in bare patches, but since I've been using a brow growth wand, they have filled back in.

I love Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel by Benefit cosmetics. I get the lightest color - cool light blonde.
Everyone I have suggested it to tells me they like it too.
It adds color and has some small fibers that helps make it look more realistic on bare patches. I have really sensitive eyes and I never have issues with it.

I have read of using mustache dye but I haven't tried it. I think I read about it here.

During the pandemic, I used Just for Men on Amazon! It worked fine imho. I prefer the salon's work, and I don't know a lot about shaping.

I just used a clean new toothbrush to brush my brows upward. then trimmed with nail scissors. I put on the dye for 5 minutes and wiped it off. Then I used clear brow gel (maybelline works fine) to shape them up a bit.

Your brow color does not need to match your hair. I think brows are very important. Play around with it!

As we age it's not just our hair that loses color. Our skin tone changes and the natural color that once complimented our skin will look too stark against our current tones. Choose the color wisely.

I use Blinc brow mousse to cover the whites. It comes in many shades.

I get my hair professionally colored about every 12 weeks, but do my own roots and a toner in betweeen visits. I am totally gray, but only my hairdresser knows😜. I color with medium brown tones with a hint of burgundy or red which was my original, young color. My brows are black, with half gray. I color my brows with the permanent brown color that I use on my roots. I mix about a quarter tsp with the developer and apply with tiny brush and place a piece of Saran wrap on then to hold the stubby grays in place while processing. The color will pick up tiny, almost invisible hairs (like peach fuzz) and my brows will look much thicker.

For clarity, I keep a tube of Neutral Brown Level 3 Or 4 that I pick up at Sally’s with a #20 developer just for my brows. Cheap and very easy to do. I just have to make sure I dont answer the door or let anyone other than DH see me…it ain’t a pretty sight🤪.

My next door neighbor is a professional make up artist. She does a lot of aging billionaire women. Her insider trick is the cheap drugstore Elf brow pencil in taupe and to use the spoolie well. She recommended it for my mom and she looks fabulous. I'd play with a product any day over dying when you are trying a new look.

I dye my hair at home using a completely non-toxic product that is a total pain the rear but works wonderfully. I apply it on my brows too. If I need a touch up in between, I use Iris & Romeo thick it up tinted brow gel.

I also color my own hair using Naturtint brand. I mix colors and use just part of the color and developer at a time. I always run out of developer before color even though I try to combine them evenly. Can I purchase extra developer separately?

I was thinking about this, and I would get them done at a salon first. That will be your best experience I think, and they may have good suggestions for you as experts. Then if you like it you can replicate at home if you wish.

My colorist dyes my brows when I have my hair colored but the dye on the brows doesn't seem to last as long as it does on my hair. My colorist says that brow hair is a little coarser.

I use Revlon ColorStay Brow Fantasy between visits. The pencil is 2 sided - one is a pencil the other side is a gel based product, like mascara. It comes in 4 different shades.

you can see in the photo my hair is white but

my brows are very dark in comparison and now they are sprinkled with white. I find in person i have more white than shows in photo.

now in order to get the color i would like i think the brows would have to be bleached.

i tried a lot of pencils and different things i have at home and they are either turning my brows darker or showing nothing. ido not want light just a lighter color than my natural color. I think i will take mtn advice and go to salon . i do not want to try bleaching at home.

you guys on here are much younger than me and always have good advice. thank you.

I USED to have great eyebrows, but not so much anymore. And, I'm not too inclined to fiddle with them anymore? I'm going for a microblade consult (my first foray into the world of fillers, etc!) this coming week-wish me luck!

I've been considering getting a nanoblade. Supposedly less intense than microblading. A friend of DH's wife does this. She's an artist and learned how to do this so she could actually make some money. He told DH about it and said she practiced on him when she first learned. DH was shocked that his eyebrows weren't natural. And DH is usually not for this kind of thing, but he's encouraged me to do it if I want. The first step is to send her a picture and she will show you what it can look like. It would be nice to have my brows back to my youthful self, but this kind of thing always makes me nervous.

If this lady can attend tulipmania for consultations, I will sneak out of my house while my family looks at old photos and show up at Longwood. I’ll be the one without eyebrows.

Well, I picked up an elf eyebrow pencil with spoolie (had to look that word up!). Big issue: naturally I take my glasses off to get to the eyebrows. To see them, I have to be inches away from the mirror. The pencil is more inches long than that.

I need something lateral, like the spoolie that has tint.

i now think maybe i should go to salon and have a professional shape them like one of these syt’es in photo. my problem is not much growth on outer ends. which style would you ask for?

I like soft arch, but doesn't it depend on what your natural shape is? Wouldn't it be a lot of work/plucking to keep a shape that is not your natural shape?

Maybe that doesn't make sense? Call me clueless about eyebrows!

I would find at pictures of your self from the last time you were happy with your brows, and ask them to try to replicate or maybe echo that shape, and take the color down a few shades?

I think you are going to like this! Brows are important.
