If they're just started building, use a long broom to knock it all down. We get them building on top of our motion lights. After you knock down their attempts to build a time or two they get the hint and go elsewhere. Or, just wait til eggs hatch (the chicks ARE cute lol) then knock it down.

If you let them finish and raise hatchlings, then remove it, the same birds will continue building a new nest at that spot every year.

I am not aware if they will reuse a nest that you relocate somewhere, I would think not (but maybe pull some of the debris to use in another nest).

They make our gazebo unusable with their mud and mess! There are plenty of trees just feet away they can use but they won’t. We have a ceiling fan in the gazebo and they build on top of it. We now encase it in a black garbage bag.

This stops them but if we don’t do it

E V E R Y year they will try again. Determined critters!

When we have company I get out the ladder remove the bag / replace it when the company leaves. sigh
