Does "constantly" mean every two weeks or twice a year?

Is the problem mainly birds, dust, algae or something else?

We have concrete and pavers and we need to power wash twice a year, sweep regularly, and also weed the paving stones.

I expect you'll have to be cleaning off any surface unless you change your mindset.

I'm in SC so we're in full on Spring. We have a cement patio in full sun. I find myself either leaf blowing it or spraying off with the hose at least weekly. I plan to stain/seal it soon which should help with some of the residue that shows up from the pine trees around us.

Probably "changing my mindset" is the thing I should work on...and maybe something to make cleaning a little easier.

I am laying fake grass on mine this year we had the grass on all our decks in the last house and I loved it so all I needed was a leaf blower and hubby was more anal so once in while swept it with a stiff broom to bring up the more used parts. We had it in the old house for 5 yrs still looked new when we sold .

We have bluestone and composite bluestone, which, of course, has to be swept if leaves fall (although the wind usually takes care of that), but doesn't grow algae or turn any color. Polymeric sand between the pavers is less likely to grow weeds, but you really want moss to grow.

Try Wet and Forget on the concrete. It works great to reduce mildew. We use it on our concrete lanai in Florida and also on our vinyl fence. Twice a year is all you need. Power wash and apply while it's still wet. It's actually activated by water.

We have a concrete deck at our home near Portland, Oregon and it regularly needs to be power washed. It needs to be replaced and we are using Duradeck which we were told is low maintenance

My previous home had porcelain tiles that were frost proof; the easiest and by far the best to deal with. Cleaned with a water hose and a broom and nothing marked the tiles. The patio I have now, I hate. Pavers that look so grimy every year and polymeric sand that comes up constantly.

I have a Trex deck and have to constantly sweep it because the trees on either side drop berries and twigs. A power blower works too.
My deck company owner recently called to ask if I wanted “to have him clean it”. It was so covered with pieces of Mother Nature, I told him to wait. Now that the trees are dropping less, I will arrange this cleaning. I don’t know if this is “regular maintenance” because the deck boards always look good. Trex is a great product to consider.

Maybe we need pictures of your issues. We live in MN in the woods under 100yr old oak trees. I have a front Trex porch, patio pavers off sliding glass doors in back as well as a cement pad outside the walk out down below. My hand held leaf blower takes care of all debris I need cleared away. The pavers have been powerwashed maybe twice in 20 years--mostly to remove the moss from between the cracks, and due to a repair that was in progress. The trex could be scrubbed one a month, it's white and shows everything but I have better things to do so as said above my standards were lowered. The cement has never been powered washed. Why???? It's used for an annual BBQ for teens. No one expects a cement pad to be as clean as a kitchen floor.

I am impressed with how little power washing you are doing. Our concrete steps and suite area are absolutely disgusting after a long wet winter in Vancouver and our pavers arent much better. Desperately needs cleaning up.

My parents complain about how consuming it is to clean their covered/screened lanai, but they clean it all the time and keep it visitor/guest ready all the time.

Me ... I only clean mine when I know people are coming over and only if I think they might want to also go sit outside. It is covered and screened, so it doesn't get gross, just covered in dust/pollen and dog hair.

Definitely a different mindset!

The interior of my house is mostly kept spotless at all times.
