Styling Ideas for a Lonely Corner

The photos below are looking into my primary bedroom. The room is located right near the front door so everyone who comes over gets a little peek into my bedroom from the entry and I want to give them something pleasing to see vs. an empty, lonely corner. I put a standing lamp in the spot (see photo);but it still looks too bare so I brought up an unused chair from the basement (also pictured) but that combo also looks “off” to me. I do love having the extra light source in that corner so I want to incorporate a lamp of some sort. I wouldn’t care that much if it weren’t for the fact that you can’t help but glance in there as you come or go from my home. Thanks in advance to those of you who have the decorating gift :-)

Try an indoor up light can and a tall potted plant near it. You’ve added light to the room that will show off the plant, the light will bounce off the walls and ceiling. When light is not on, there is a nice plant to look at. A folded pretty throw across the foot of the bed will add styling points. You can also just close the door when you have guests.

I agree about up lighting a tree/plant. It’ll be a nice glow at night as you look into the room. You could add a dresser or console with a mirror or artwork above it. Not sure how much room you have between end and bed and wall so it may have to be a narrow piece. Place a lamp on it for extra lighting and add a rug for a nice finishing touch.

I love those ideas and especially love seeing how it would actually look! I do have enough room for something across from the foot of the.bed — not a dresser but a narrow console would look cool plus give me a place to set a lamp. Thank you so much.

If it were me, I’d not only be considering the view from the hall, but adding warmth and more interest in general. Think big picture and it can be done over time.

If you can get two additional drapery panels, suggest extending the rod to allow the drapes to rest more on the wall. The combo below is inviting, practical and is not just some items to fill a space.

I think the blank area at the bottom of the bed is a lost opportinity and a substantial bench and large art would be really nice additions.

A dresser with a TV or some nice art on top would look great in there. I'm torn between leaving the chair in the corner and adding a vanity or a desk in this corner purely for functional reasons. Someone posted a concept with a dresser earlier, I think that's your answer, it looks fantastic. The mirror across the bed would freak me out when I wake up in the middle of the night but that's an issue for us paranoid folks, lol!

I love the idea of a bench at the foot of the bed but I also love the idea of a console. Your ideas make it look so much warmer
