Like the second combination better, but not the thing over the garage. I feel like the stone should stand out as an accent vs blending into the brick. It's kind of like having a couch with the same color and texture of pillows on it vs pillows that have a different color, pattern and texture on the couch to add visual interest and pop. Go with your gut feelings and congratulations on your first home. It's beautiful !

Thanks! yeah we are confused about which stone color to pick. Horizon stone is the manufacturer. Also, Can we paint the exterior trim light gray instead of the cloud white color they have ? we don't like the white trim so much, but aren't sure about it.

I've seen just about all types of combinations, some good, some not so much. The thing i feel is most important is the materials are in the same range of colors - meaning it's ok for one product to be light and one dark. Meaning a light brown can look good with a dark brown, or a light gray with at charcoal, etc...

I would use the style, pattern, and mix of stone and brick displayed in the first one, substituting the brick and stone we see in the second house.

If you ask me, the brick and the stone are both too varied in tone to look good together. Perhaps you could post all your choices in brick and stone to get feedback on the best combination. Do you have an all-brick option? Choices in color of fascia and trim?

Can you make any changes to the front entry? It seems somewhat hidden. Landscaping and a bright front door might help, but with such a busy façade, it will be a challenge to figure out a good color scheme.

That little garage in the middle seems a little out of proportion too. Can the top be arched like its neighbor? Oh, I see they did, but it and the window upstairs lintels apparently don't jut out as much and doesn't create the shadow line so you can see it because that whole section is stone veneer. I like it better if it was brick and stone like the rest of the house. Being right in the center and in a different material puts too much emphasis on the garage I think. The combination on 2 in all brick and just a little stone is somewhat better.

Are there going to be brackets under the pent roof to sort of fill in that big gap? If possible, I would consider extending the roof all the way across your front entry and adding a simple square column to create a larger front entry.

Not sure if you can make design changes to facing materials and such, but worth a try.

Buechel, thanks for the link, I will check it out. So if we go with the colors on the second house, and we paint the trim in the same maroon color, but a lighter shade ? The other color combinations we liked are the ones below, although its a different builder and a different model, we like the stone/brick/trim combination. But the thing that is worrying me with that is the fact that our garage will be in the front of the house and i don't know how good will dark grey garage doors look, will it make the house look super dark or so. If not can i leave the garage doors in a different color ? say dark maroon and have the shutters trim and windows painted dark gray

Also, the first photo posted up there is of the house which isn't complete yet, the actual home will look like the sketch i posted below. If we were to go with one of the combinations from below, what color would the garage have to be painted in ?

As of now the second picture is the one we are leaning towards, if we can figure out the garage then it'll be the one of the pictures below. The ones we like are in the order. The second pic is our favorite, and the next one and so on. The one unknown is how will the garage doors look.

We love the idea of having charcoal gray shutters on this home, but please make sure they will be the proper size for your windows! You have such a beautiful exterior that if you place shutters that are too skinny for your home it may take away from the overall appearance.

As for the garage, what about adding a pergola over the doors? This is something that adds a bit of texture and appeal.

Thanks Timberlane, although i don't know if the builder will be willing to do that, i can always ask. Also, along with grey shutters, i wanted the rest of the trim also (meaning the inverted -V part of the roof as well as the windows) also in charcoal grey. Then what color would you suggest would go with the garage doors ? I was thinking if the garage is also the same color, it might make the home look super dull. Or maybe i can paint the shutters in a darker grey, windows and the inverted-v in a lighter grey as well as the garage doors in that light grey? What do you think ?

Also, can you all suggest maybe a tool in which i can try to visualize this ? (apart from photoshop), if not thats fine too. Thanks!

any website where i can simulate the brick and trim color ? I know this is our biggest barrier as of now. We have our elevation, we know what stone and brick we like. We have to tell our decision on sunday but we won't have any way to simulate and see it before we go with it. :/

I personally like the first photo. (Darker brick) looks rich and compliments the model.

This is a big decision & will ultimately affect future resale value. A bad decision here can't be "fixed" as easily as a bad choice in wall or carpet color. Hire a design professional to help you with this. Their fee will be well worth it. I am NOT a design professional, but wish I had used one when I picked out the ceramic kitchen/ foyer tile when we built our house. Replaced it recently at significant expense.
Personally, I think stone & brick combo can be too busy/ very unattractive-- so professional advice is well worth the expense.
