I would consider painting the walls of the room gold, then using the turquoise and tan for drapes,chairs and accent colors, perhaps incorporating your pillows or pillow fabric into he ACNP chairs. How about turquoise drapes? This color scheme would blend well with the white modular furniture, and the colors would flow with the rest of your decorating scheme - without the whole downstairs being turquoise. The gold walls should set a suitable mood for the study.

If your pillow is your inspiration, it has all the answers: order the white furniture and place it against gray walls. Find drapes with a pattern similar to the pillow and an area rug with the same colors. Then, use bright pops of color - including turquoise - for wall art and accent pieces. I have attached some photos I found to demonstrate the color palette I'm envisioning. You can see in one of the photos I'm attaching how well the white, gray, yellow and turquoise go together.

Your options are endless. But you need to consider them before you start to gut. Is the piano decorative or integral to your business? Will you be seeing two or twenty clients per day? Would a lovely buffet-style table with several drawers and shelf storage situated along the wall behind your desk function professionally, while maintaining the beauty and atmosphere of your home? Will lighted, glass-front cabinets be required to showcase your product while keeping dust at bay? Are there security concerns? Are there privacy issues that will impact window covering design? Will your business require you to sit with your clients to review plans, swatches or the like? If so, have you considered a comfortable seating area surrounding either a coffee-table height or an island-height table custom-designed with storage and electricity? Do you want your printer and cables out in the open or neatly tucked away inside a deep armoire with box-style pullout shelves for additional storage and to cut down on dusting? Although task lighting is a must, will your business model tolerate a crystal or contemporary high-gloss, white acanthus leaf chandelier? What's your budget? A designer's best advice often begins with more questions than answers. M
