We moved into our new house about 3 months ago, and I just can't seem to get in the groove getting it decorated. Just completely overwhelmed I think at the amount of things we need and having a really hard time finding what I want/need with our budget. We have really tall ceilings which I think is a lot of why I feel overwhelmed. We stained the all of dark cabinets, but I'm struggling to decorate the counters, especially with my husband who's a total minimilist and fights me on everything I put on the counters. I have a cobalt kitchenaid mixer, but he wont let me leave it out. If I want it out, it has to be functional. I plan to replace the electric cooktop and microwave with probably a bluestar cooktop and stainless canopy hood, but then I'm perplexed with where to put the microwave without losing one of our double ovens. I also really want to do our family room because that's where we spend our time, we're camping out on a teeny lazyboy until we find something we like. I want a sleek but comfortable leather sectional. I dont like too contemporary, but something kind of in the middle or transitional, and I dont really want to spend more than $3k because I know it's going to be abused by my two dogs and my toddler (plus we have another baby on the way). Which is also why leather is an absolute must. I would love if people could post some suggestions or even some photos off of Houzz with ideas of what our spaces could look like. I have a lot of big ideas, but for now want to focus on making the biggest impact with furniture and accessories.
