awww, Peanut is so cute Darzy!

We have a lot of throws in our house .. our dog has a couple of her very own too. I think when you live in a cold climate, throws are wonderful to have. Love all the furry, soft ones.

I have handmade throws on both couches in my living room. They were gifts from family members. We use them practically every day, even in summer. I love cuddling up in a blanket :)

Goodness gracious, YES! I'm bundled in one right now.

It looks messy, but I love the coziness feel.

I have one across my lap now :) who doesn't love them? I have a throw pretty much in every room, a few extra in the living room. My kitty Franny loves them too!

"Throws" in this house usually have an extra insulating layer of cat hair...

Can't live without my throws! They are the ultimate comfort item.

I have a few wool throws from Pendleton in the family room. The kids and even I get cold sometimes and it is so much better to cover up and watch some TV then to get extra layer of clothing. Plus, it brings color as well (not that I don't have enough color in the house).

Throws are environmentally and wallet friendly as they enable us to turn down the heat

My only "beef" with our Pendleton throw is how tough it is to remove cat hair from it. But, clearly, I have no one to blame for that but myself, lol.
Daybreak, have you tried the Faribault throws? That might be better for cat hair. I don't have cats (became allergic to them once I moved to California; don't live there anymore), but they seem to be easier to clean (not as dense as the Pendleton).

Never even heard of them, Prin.. No allergies for us so we don't spend much time on cat hair removal until we are expecting guests (!). We have a Marine friend (allergic to cats) and we maintain that we could "break him" by duct taping him to the cats' favorite chair and covering him with the Pendleton throw...

LOL, thanks for the laugh, Daybreak!

I love a beautiful warm and colourful throw. It adds texture, warmth and bit of glamour to a room. It makes you feel cosy.

i love well made textiles, whether they be throws, upholstery, drapery, pillow covers, rugs, tapestries, weavings.... ALL of it is wonderful to me!
This is true. We went on a bus through the rolling hills around us. I put a throw on daughters knees ,she threw up on it and I had to throw it out at the next stop. Always give her the pills now

I love my faux fur throws.

Throws are indispensable! The menfolk in the family insist on keeping the house cold enough to hang meat in! We have them on the sofa, the chairs and beds year round. as mentioned by other Houzzers they make for cozy naps. chookchook you keep me laughing!
Daybreak, that would be a plan for your friend:) I wish that would work for me, too:) I used to have a cat, back in Oregon, and then, one visit to California made me allergic to them. As for the Faribault throws, they are really nice. They are made in Minnesota.

    Yup, love 'em!

I love the texture and color they add to a room.

Thank you, happyasaclam, I love throws, seriously

We only have two throws (one each) that hang neatly folded over the sofas' armrests when not in use. Although they fit into the color scheme, they don't serve as decorative elements, because I personally think that 'decoratively thrown throws', like in the first photo, look silly.
I like the texture, and they add a bit of luxury.
No. I live in SW FL and it's only cold enough to use them in Jan-Mar and even then the dog drags them off the furniture onto the floor to make her own bed.

I'm sitting here underneath my aqua chenille throw. We've got several but mine are never artfully arranged...I'm just not into any of that.

I don't have any throws in the bedroom - I don't see the point in a room where one sleeps in a bed conveniently equipped with blankets
  • 12 years ago
I had a friend who no longer wore her mink coat and had it made into a throw. Talk luxury!

I love layering fabrics and textures. Adding throws creates another dimension of interest. During the colder months I use faux fur and woolie fabrics and during the warmer months, I switch to cotton and linen. Love my throws!!!

I take one in the car when we are traveling. I have had to throw out a few after traveling with kids in the mountains.

Years ago, in his last semester of college, my son studied in London. He traveled throughout the U.K. on his breaks, and when he returned, he brought me a woolen throw from Ireland he actually watched being woven ! NOBODY touches that throw but me, and it is still like new, even after 27 years! Maybe I started a trend and didn't even know it !
I have one on my bed, a very soft one, and on cold nights I smoosh it around my head.

i'm such a textile fiend... can't help it, it's in my blood. here's a shawl/throw i just bought....all wool incl embroidered work. it looks even better in r/l btw

I always wrap myself in a throw no matter where in the house I am. I've noticed guests often do the same. I use at least one throw in every room. Baskets are great for those that can't drape them stylishly after use!

Have to have throws. Not only do they keep me warm, they add such a relaxed look to a room. Makes me feel welcome when I walk in and see a throw in someone's home.

So little creatures are so cute! My cat use to dive into the laundry basket, fight with the clothes and sleep inside! Later had to just leave some old clothes in a basket just for that purpose!

I think throws are fabulous! Not only are they decorative, they are functional. If shown properly they can add a pop of color/warmth to a room. Perfect for snuggling on a cold evening! Contact me at Remote Stylist for sourcing...

I have one hidden under the pillows on the day bed (at the ready for a quick nap) and in a basket beside the lounge chair in my living room in case I get chilly while I have my feet up reading a book.
