Buy or have designed and built a cabinet with glass shelves, a mirrored back and led lighting .

I put open shelves above built in book cases, about 15" tall, and lit them. They extended in an L shape across two walls of the small library/sitting room, and were up high where shelves don't get used anyway. I put pieces of glass there and they stood out beautifully. You could do this high over kitchen shelves, or build a shelf around a perimeter of a room just below the ceiling. Another possibility is to frame a door in bookshelves and place glass in them instead of books. My parents had an extensive collection of antique glass. My mother displayed some on glass shelves purpose built in front of a stationary window in her breakfast room. Another surprising play to put smaller pieces is in a free standing vitrine in a master bath--my sister did this and it is gorgeous.
