My decorator has made it very clear I must have original art for my walls. I have purchased 2 pieces already:

1) An oil painting by Mario Cespedes, of 2 stylized women in bright colors (hot pink, tropical, royal blue) in an Amazon-type setting...think a brighter, fresher Gauguin

2) A woven copper piece about 32" square, with great patina in a deep rose color with bronze hints, by local metal artist Tom de Hoog

Now I find myself wanting a third...perhaps an etching or line drawing, in navy blue or sepia (black just doesn't sound good). Art is as yet unhung, rugs and new fabric for upholstery still to be selected. My floors and shutters are a medium tone hardwood and walls are a pretty off-white, so this is about as blank as a slate gets.

As far as subject goes, I'm flexible. In fact, I'm flexible on medium too. The one thing I don't ever see myself buying would be very abstract oils. Size: Min 24", Max 48" or so. Budget: up to $500 for the right, original piece.
