Can you explain what Wabi Sabi design is?

Never heard this design term. Is it like fung suey? (Sp)?

Was there food in this room? You will find people by the food. Usually the kitchen. At my house.

I looked it up.......according to Wikipedia.......Wabi-sabi represents a Japanese aesthetic based on the acceptance of imperfection. It is derived from Buddhist teaching. some of the characteristics of Wabi-sabi are : asymmetry, roughness or irregularity, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy and an appreciation of ingenous integrity of natural objects and processes.........

Another article says that it is the art of finding beauty in imperfection. It values simplicity, uncluttered, underplayed and modest surroundings.............

the photos that I found show beautiful, natural and simple spaces with lots of sunshine and natural elements.............

I found the article on Houzz. I used objects which are important to us. Things we have been given or have collected. The two pictures don't show all of the "things" in the room. In the article, it said you would know if you are successful because that would be the room people would gravitate toward. It definitely is imperfection, simple, intimate, and has many natural objects. A far cry from my original decorating plan. We love it.
