Found this website by just putting in the info found at the top of the mosaics. It says to email them to find out who sells them around your area. http://www.sohostudiocorp.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MJ%2DAladdin%2DCarrera

I'm keeping this site for myself as well! It's pretty great!
@yoboseiyo- yes, I tried to order it today but it will take 10 weeks and now that I have time to figure out if I can find it for less than $56 a sheet! $56x 40sq= husband having a heart attack, when he sees the tile bill! :)

This looks like marble tile perhaps look for ceramic tile. Finding it in a marble look might be harder, but nevertheless your best starting point is with the tile merchant.

@Ed- thanks but what is coming up is very plan. We would like to use the tile on the floor, wainscot on the walls 48" up, then black & White toile on the walls to the ceiling. Our light too

    *whistle* $56 a sf! wow!
i would definitely look around and see if you can find a less expensive version!
Any tile store. It's pretty common. Where is it going?
The smaller ones look like Carrera marble. If so very expensive and will stain. I would go with that look but, faux one. Google

check out builddirect.com They may have it or something similar and their prices are usual pretty good. Good luck, it is gorgeous!!

The Toile, is nice but very busy. Are you sure you want to put in bathroom. Maybe just one wall. You could get same look at half the price with wallpaper. Ck paint stores and see their books. Marble is very expensive. You can get same look with less expensive knock off looks. It's going on walls don't need to spend that much.

I think that is called an ogee style of tile and it is quite popular right now. I would put it on the floor only and use subway for the walls, perhaps with a black liner and or a border, and maybe some of the ogee for an accent in the shower or something simple and classic. White ceramic would work if it isn't too slick (unglazed porcelain is nice). Check the tile slip resistance.

Restricting the pattern to just a small area will save money and keep it from getting too busy or dated very quickly. Plus it would be easier to change out if you change your mind in 10 years or so.

Cement tile is very durable and has a nice matte finish that isn't slippery. These are 10" each but not sure of price http://www.villalagoontile.com/moroccan-shaped-tiles.html

If you look around, you can find lots of alternatives. I like to use Google Image search --try Ogee or Moroccan floor tile. PnInterest can be good too.

@victorianbungalowranch- OMG I LOVE YOU! You just prevented my husband from having a heart attack! This is why I LOVE houzz! Do you think the tile in the Home Depot link would work with Carrera beveled 3x6 tile in the shower? I would even consider a grayish grout for the flooring, since I'm looking to do that for the shower tile?

Btw-the light I posted was on clearance and final sale for 234! It was a FRIGGEN steal! But I am learning not to be so impulsive in my sale purchases....just in case I want to change my design...lol

I would buy samples of each and check the relative scale and see if you like it. I think it would look best with some sort of border between the two types of tile. Grey grout is very practical, doesn't show dirt and is similar to what was used years back when tiles were embedded in 1" of mortar (a mud job). The color would go well with marble.

The ogee isn't strictly a historical style, but the scale and color of the Home Depot t mosaic tiles are similar to traditional hex tile, which was commonly combined with subway, 4" x 4" tile, liner strip and marble (mostly slabs) in the sanitary bath era, about 1900-1925. I personally really like unglazed white porcelain tile--not slippery and long lasting if installed correctly. Newer tile is thinner than the old stuff and a separation mat can be a good idea to prevent cracking. One advantage of the small floor tile is that it is less likely to crack when the house settles, unlike the big tile, although the mortar joints might.

My 1960s curved edge bottom tile on my bathroom walls has cracked due to settling, whereas the rest of the tile is still perfect, so that might be something to consider. Perhaps a square edge holds up better. I once lived in an apartment with all original 1930s tile, still in perfect condition, without this problem.

Old House Journal has a lot of info on historic sanitary bath styles in its latest issue, and you can find a lot of sources on its website, along with its sister Arts and Crafts homes website.

Try the brand AKDO or Ann Sacks. You can find a dealer on both companies websites.

FYI I did the Home Depot tile (in matte) in my bathroom (floor) with light gray grout and it looks quite fab.

Piff, would love to see if possible?
Marissa- I was able to find the ann sacks, however they are just as expensive.

This is a Walker Zanger product and I need to offer my two cents as a tile and stone distributor of high quality products. Using your local source has many benefits including the following: 1) when you run short (which most projects do) you have a friend who can source the same shade, color, etc. 2) Try having the lowest retailer from across the country come look at your project when the shade or caliber doesn't match. 3) Not happy with your purchase, check the costs to send the material back and if it is even refundable. 4) The wrong color or product arrives, good luck getting the challenge resolved. 5) Depending upon the size of order, do you have the means to unload the delivery truck and what if someone is not home to receive it? 6) I also have to add, people come and use our incredible resources, have us order lunch and bend the ear of certified and trained design consultants for hours. They request we provide and order samples for them to take home and then question why a vendor who does not offer these services or certified staff is a few dollars more. The answer is I too could offer the product for less money if I didn't have to cover the overhead providing the guaranteed finest buying experience in the industry for our clients.
