We just bought our house about 1.5 months ago. We have painted the bedrooms and the dining area so far. We love the color of the dining area and the rug we just got for that room. What makes finding a color difficult for me is that our kitchen runs into our dining area of the kitchen which runs into the living room and stairs to go up and stairs to go down (we live in a quad level house ((3 living levels and a basement))).

The fourth picture is the dining room we just painted (eventually the sliding door will be white with white trim and we will be replacing the flooring in the living room dining area and kitchen to laminate hardwood floors). This picture was taken coming in the front door. The third picture is looking from the dining room into the kitchen (we have all new stainless appliances being delivered and we will be painting the cabinets white with a tiles multi color backsplash which contains red blue green and white and grey). The first picture is looking from the dining room to the front entry door in the living room. The second picture is looking from the front door to the corner of the living room.

If you were to walk in our front door the dining room would be the first thing you see directly in front of you and to the right would be a plain empty wall for about 10 ft and then stairs to go down and then stairs ping up and then the dining room wall. Our living room is 17ft x 11.5ft. We would like the wall color to go with our couches and the dining room color.

The small wall in the fourth picture on the left hand side might be a chalkboard paint wall but that isn't decided yet.

Also what color should we paint the walls going up the stairs.

Note. The wall to the left of the star in the second picture we will be putting an electric white fireplace and a flat screen smart tv above the fireplace with hidden cables. The front window we will be taking the blinds down and putting up nice curtains with a stylish curtain rod.
