Do you tip your contractor's supervisor?

My husband and I are having our dream cabin built and it will be finished very soon. Our GC has a supervisor who has worked very hard on this home. Has any one ever had experience tipping an employee of a contractor? How much? Do you let the GC know? Thanks

Yes! Tell the GC how much help was provided by his employee. Didn't tip ours, but he was more than welcomed to stay over for dinner

That`s nice that you are even considering a gratuity to an employee, I don`t believe the size or amount really matters, but it lets him/or her know you really appreciate their work. 30 years ago I was thrilled when a homeowner gave me a $20 bill and was told to go have a steak dinner on him just because I didn`t put any hammer marks in the nice redwood trim I installed for him.
