Mac Interiors What kind of centerpiece would you put in a room like this? I was thinking to find 3 square mirrored pots and put silk pink hydrangeas in it.

I say pink but I will end up probably buying cream with green leaves for accents.

Actually, my walls color is more yellow but if this can help here it is. The frame in the dining room is a print we bought online that reminds us of the cafes we went in Provence. The one from Mykonos is on the left of the patio door but you can't see in in the picture I posted.

Your dining set is absolutely GORGEOUS! Enjoy it well. I loved seeing how 9' ceilings look because my next house has 9' ceilings in the dining area, kitchen, and bedrooms (10' in living room and 2 story in playroom to encompass a loft area). There are many lighting websites and you need to see what you like. Just remember, if you get one with lots of crystal, you'll be cleaning all those crystals with vinegar water every month. I would go with something very large and lamp part would pick up a color elsewhere in the room -- such as the seats (no white chandelier with cream seats). I have no issues with table runners, but I would add a low centerpiece of some sort.

Joanna, for your center pieces I think you're on track with the three mirrored pots with large hydrangeas, but I would go round and have the center pot be larger than the two flanking the center. Something like this, but with a set of three. I actually like the white and green neutral tones in the flowers instead of pink. Personally, I'd either go more neutral with the flowers or pull the color from your window treatments (once you pick them). For the holidays I would go with varying heights of candles. Some white, silver, and gold – simple but elegant.

The light fixture you posted is nice, but I think I would go with something with a little more glamour. Im going to go to Home Sense (The Canadian home goods) and find round like vases like those and the silk flowers. Still not too excited about those chandeliers. Im looking for a particular style but at the same time I don't know what that style "looks" like. If that makes any sense.

Love the table too. Like wall color. Go a roman shade on all windows. Go a darker gray with color of chairs as a border. A more formal chandelier. A rectangle, bronze or dark wood, there is one that looks like candles going across. It should be 36" long hang 36" from table top. Something with some bling will work too. You could go a very large area rug in the peacock colors, for color. You like to play it safe, when it comes too color. Live it up. Mix it up with pillows in bold colors and design and shape. Chairs should be on rug when you are sitting on them. In dining rm. you need to break up all the dark, floors and table the rug would do that. Take away runner. Add a big silver tray fill with white tall orchids, can be faux, and candles.

Coffee table not working with that sectional. Go a round glass. Or two Martini tables from west Elm. Rug could be brighter.

Chaz's and Mac some get lights. Also love the wine wall.,very clever use of space. Now that's thinking outside the box.

Pottery barn is light I was talking about.

If you want to go more formal and with color. Try satin peacock panels very full on all window ends. You could still use roman under them. It would be very nice. Do shades in a ivory.

I think the taupey blue will be very nice. I think you said earlier that there is no wall between your family room and your dining room. If it is the case, I would introduce the taupey blue in your family room too. You have great taste.

@suzanne_m Thanks! The dining room is connected to the kitchen and the family room is connected to the kitchen but the hallway connects all three rooms. Our home is more of a pentagon shape! I have to really search high and low to find the right drapery fabric!

When you say high and low, is it two pictures where one room is expensive and the other room is very similar but half the cost? If yes, where do you look for that? I love seeing pictures like that.

Love the doing set and the neutral against dark wood. There is a wonderful rectangular chandelier, eight candelabra in dark iron with a rectangular shade that has a transitional clean look. It would go perfectly with the furniture and beautiful divided light windows. I used it with a harvest table and added more chain for the vaulted ceiling.

For your dining room you could do some nice honeycombed grey patterned drapes like these from houzz.com.

Since the windows have such lovely white trim, I would suggest you install inside rods or suspension rods and then hang curtains on them, but have the bottoms of the curtains come just to the window sill so that all the lovely trim is visible. The neutral colors you have chosen are a good backdrop for almost any color in the pastel to medium range. Because the floor and wood furniture are a very dark brown, I would avoid dark colors except for dark brown picture frames on the walls. The room and your furniture really are beautiful, and I believe a silver-tone chandelier in a classic or traditional style would bring the right sparkle to the space.

Upon looking at your pictures again, I have another idea. Since you have so many solid colors in the room, you might add white-painted picture molding around the room, at a level just above the top of the window trim, and add white-painted crown molding at the wall-ceiling junctures. I realize this may be difficult considering the short walls that flank the bay window area, but the effect would be stunning. In the space between the top of the picture molding and the bottom of the crown molding, you could use paint in an accent color or add wallpaper in a leaf-and-vine print in a soft color like avocado, aqua, or mocha paired with a lighter shade of the respective color or silver metallic as the background color. Along with this, perhaps you could find decorator fabric in the same print to make a runner or runners for the table and small back or bolster cushions for the chairs. From the picture molding clips, you could use ribbon in the darker color of the wallpaper to hang framed photos or artwork against each solid-color wall section. If the ribbon is tied in a bow at the top, it can be quite charming.
