Hi brobicho, Congrats on your kitchen remodel ! Very nice ! :) A little deja vu for me, because we also just knocked down a separation wall between the kitchen and the dining areas -- we removed the entire separation wall, from ceiling to floor, so we can see the entire sides of the cabinets!

Hi Ed, The contractor made the opening as wide as he could on that side as I couldn't afford to move the plumbing from the upstairs bathroom that is contained in there. I did consider it though but there was just nothing left in the budget!

To get as much space as possible, the backdoor was closed off (where the stove is now) as well as an entrance doorway from the stairs area (where the fridge is now).

I went from 4.5 ft of counter to a little over 10 ft!
