My new dining room is a corner room with 2 windows, one on each outside wall. I plan to install low bookcases on one wall which will be high enough to just touch the bottom sill. The other window wall will be open. What would be the best way to handle window treatments? Should they both be short or one short and one floor length? (That always looks so awkward to me.) Privacy is an issue as the windows face out to a street corner. Right now I have tension rods with cafe curtains on the bottom half of the windows for privacy but they are not enough - the windows look so bare! And I can hear an echo from not having enough sound-absorbing fabric in the room. Help!
