I love how the rug looks pulled over. For me, that makes everything better (well, at least viewing this all via photos). Pillows are great, I too think a few more plants near your fig might be nice. You know, staggered heights (and I do hope it will grow). Love the color on the branch (but think it might be more balanced on other side of fireplace?).
One last thing is needed, something "blue" (on coffee table and maybe on back of console table behind sofa - and not turquoise, more like a nice indigo). I don't know why, but I'm still mentally picture a ornamental bird cage back there! Over all - much improved! Kudos.

I liked the lanterns off-center with the low candles in the center, did you move them? I know that fig will grow, give it time. I was thinking a more weighty pot would help, it's a bit top heavy. If you add other plants there will come a time when that corner will be overtaken with green, for me, one is enough. I find my eye goes right to the orange piece on the mantle, I would put it somewhere else.

You can get a deep basket like the example above and place an upside down pot under the plant to raise it, giving it a bit more presence.

Hi WW! I've missed this discussion too!!!! I love the new pillows and also prefer the demijohn on the right side of the fireplace. Also, I agree with every word of bluenan's recent comment about the off center lanterns, bigger pot or basket for the fig, and orange vase. I was reading along, ready to post a comment saying those three things and got to bluenan's comment and just nodded in agreement:) Did you ever make any decision about a dining room rug? Have you been able to order the new sofa - I remember you had to wait a bit due to the store moving (I think?)?

Agree...fig needs a bigger pot, demijohn on the right. I also agree the "orange" on the mantle is fall décor...nothing wrong with that.

I was going to also suggest the yellow branch on the right of the fireplace and agree with 'Less'. The yellow pillows are great and the branch on the FP right balances the spreading of color repetition on the opposite line of sight.

I also agree with Bluenan about the coffee table 3 items.

I would suggest the fig tree on the right side of the TV, close to it. Maybe can work on the left side of the TV too, if it is not obstructing pathway.

We had 20 people to dinner last night. Turkey, stuffing, apple crisp.. And so much more! Today is all about being thankful, enjoying the fall colours.. Oh and football! Very similar to american thanksgiving I think!

Love the chair placements. I would still like the demijohn on the right of the fireplace and opposite angle to the gold pillows, to repeat gold in the living room.

Just a warning on your plant...not a good plan to have a ceramic saucer in direct contact with the floor, condensation can be a silent problem leading to staining of the floor or even carpet. Trust me, experience....and take my word for it, the husband will use bad language when he discovers it! Home Depot and Lowes both sell a clear plastic saucer on wheels or little feet that is very unobtrusive.

I would say that when you see a picture, look at the commentator who posted the picture. If it comes from Rhonda then it is real. If it comes from groveraxle then it is her photoshop's work.I personally would try not to accentuate it with trim, if it bugs you already. I would do as babophz suggested and if possible... wallpaper up to the highest part of the angle.

I think if you ask 10 people, you'd get a different idea of the definition of what color "sand" is.

The more earthy toned rugs bring out the more earthy tones of the drapes/ones with more yellow bring out the chartreuse tones

Group hug! I hung something in our bedroom the other day and honestly thought to myself.....hmmm.....wonder what my Houzz friends would think. Our daughter-in-law here in town is now a secretary in an elementary school and invites me in every season to decorate the office. Gosh, how fun is that!!! Our son and his wife just down the road finished their basement and needed help accessorizing shelves......hello, one of my favorite things to do. I use everything I learned from all of you and smile the whole time!!!

I worked hard on almost every room in my house with the help of all the wonderful people on Houzz and have hardly changed as much as a pillow ever since, lol:)

We did get the exterior of our home painted. I chose a gray color for the stucco and it was terrible. The house looked like the inside of a prison cell. I stopped the painters at the end of day 1, chose a much nicer gray (SW Intellectual gray, with SW Porpoise trim, with SW Urbane bronze (darkened) for the front door) and now I really like it. We had to eat some paint cost but such is life. I would have had to move if I hadn't regrouped on the awful color, lol.
