I would do sheer white panels

This looks like a lovely cozy bedroom. You definitely need some more lighting, though, than just the ceiling fan and the natural light. Next to the bed is an outlet. That would be a nice place to put a nightstand and table lamp. In fact, it might be best to flank both sides of the bed with tables and lamps.
Judging by what decor is already in there, something kind of elegant and pretty could be ideal. Think mirrored nightstands, mercury glass lamps, crystal lamps, white tables...the sky's the limit, but these are just a few things I'm thinking of that might go well with what you already have and the goal you have.

Do you have a large closet for your clothes storage? If not, that is the first thing you will need to tackle. You could put a tall dresser between the windows for undergarments and socks if you need to free up some closet space. I'd also choose nightstands that have some storage - at least a drawer. If your taste tends towards the classic, then go with a pair of nightstands. If you are more eclectic, then get nightstands that are different from one another. Perhaps one is round and the other is more of a cabinet style. You have many options for bedding, including keeping what you have, but you will definitely need to add some Euro pillows with shams and and at least two pillows for sleeping. I'd switch out the light fixture too and go for a white fan (with no light) if you need the circulation or a small chandelier depending up on your style. Hard to advise you on the direction you'd like to go with such a black slate and no inspiration images. Best of luck!

Thank you and yes I do have large closet. Your advise is very helpful! agree that existing fan must be replaced! My tastes seem to be all over the place! ha. I do have the pillows and shams was waiting on purchasing any accent or furniture pieces until I put together some ideas.. . I do know that whatever additions I decide on would need to then work with any bedding swaps etc I may make... The bed really is the focal point in that room..no way around that! Kag, I'm drawing a big blank. All I'm getting is a body pillow (since you have none) and a 2 or 3-light wall fixture over the headboard that's turned on by a pushbotton switch on the nightstand. Oh, wait, the nightstand(s) have black metal legs, a glass top below which is a glass shelf (no drawer) upon which is a wicker basket (like a sm. picnic basket w/ hinged lid) lined with white fabric. I'll look online for some pics.

I like the room, I'm picturing a chest on one side of the bed and a narrow table on the other like a small writing desk. A mix of old and new. Soft drapes pulled to opposite the bed.

Definitely play up the tray ceiling, maybe a few shades lighter than wall color or another color of your choice. Remove the light section from ceiling fan and paint blades white. Also add crown molding for a more sophisticated look to room.

Hi Marie! I really only have the bed (Ivory w/ nail heads) and wall color (Valspar Evening Twilight-described as not quite gray not quite purple-a beautiful hybrid!) If there were a way to use the clock I posted in my living room dilemma that would be nice but I have other rooms it could go in.. another of my deficiencies is that I have a hard time visualizing ..I often have to bring things in and actually see them.. sometimes I get lucky most times I'm making exchanges!! haha by the way if you have a chance I'd love to hear your thoughts on my living room ..i posted a couple photos and the art I am working from..

Often times we find that customers have an easier time if they start with a duvet set they like first, since the bed is often the focal point of the room, and decorate around that. It is usually easier to pull colors/elements from a duvet set rather than trying to match bedding to an existing decor scheme - just a thought - best of luck!

White is not a bad option to start with :) This set is similar to what you have so if you like it, as someone previously posted, accent pillows / throw can be added for a pop of color or texture.

I'd like to keep the white bedding I love the design of this, after some time I may want a change. I'm going to pull purple from the wall color in some of the bed pillows.. and other pieces, with a lil bling and or silver sheen! would like another color possibly, otherwise a variety of purple hues. I am liking all the things posted so far as a whole. I'm trying to pull pieces from each that are catching my eye to see if there is theme or if as I fee, l I'm just winging it and hoping!

armygirl, maybe a better way to describe would be to say I do not like ornate things! especially the thought of cleaning them! prefer simple, (minimal?) as far as any art..i have tendency towards abstract (please see my living room pictures for examples) ..thanks for all your help so far!

If you are planning on a monocramatic color scheme keep in mind to use a lot of various textures. Drapes, pillows, throws & rugs are perfect opportunities to add texture. If plan to keep the bed cover you need to add a skirt. I would recommend buying drapes that run from floor to ceiling. You can even cheat on the width too by going beyond the frame of the window. This will give you a much more luxurious look.

I concurs with everything that LightsOn said. Just remember when planning lighting that you want the same amount of light coming from the bottom as from the top. Uplights are an inexpensive way to add lighting from below.

Unless you really need a a ceiling fan I would definetly put chandelier in your room. It will add both luxury & that feminine touch that you're looking for.
