My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Adding a second story to a bland ranch style home

We started with a single story ranch home and added a second floor master suite, bedroom and 3/4 bath. The first floor was gutted to the studs, and remodeled from stem to stern.

      Kurt, these photos are very inspiring. We just purchased a similar style ranch home and would like to do an addition as you described. Did you need to reinforce foundation of the house? What was the SQF of the addition? Where did you locate the stairs to go up?


      We have vaulted ceilings that would have to be leveled so that is another consideration. It is not my first remodel project but would be my first addition. I appreciate you taking the time to answer!
