Any AGA owners??

We're gutting our kitchen and I LOVE the idea of having an AGA cooker, but I'm worried about the heat. We live in Southeast Texas, land of the hot and humid. I'm thinking an AGA will not work for us based on sheer heat factor. Anyone out there in a sunny, warm clime with an AGA? Anyone that contemplated an AGA and ended up with something else? What would you get to get that same look, but more suited to our situation? Thanks!

I have a small blue Aga...I would never buy another because they're soooo hard to clean. We also have a small Wolf cooktop in stainless. People think stainless is hard to keep but the Aga is way more work. It's very well insulated as far as the ovens are concerned but the top is the problem.

I'd look at a Viking or a Wolf.

over here in UK we have AGA's that are gas - so more like a cooker - but still looks like an AGA ... sounds like that may be a better option for you ?!

We have a Gas AGA cooker that we keep on year round.... We live in western New England, (MA) and last summer was quite hot- 90's to low 100's..... we just keep out kitchen windows open..... honestly I would never not have an AGA. They are wonderful and our gas one has given us no problems, unlike our Viking range that has had 8 service calls in 3 years.. our two dogs and two cats are always laying around this range.... our family really loves it.... but they are not for every family. they are very pricy( 13000- 25,000).. they also cost about $1.50 per day to run with a yearly servicing, $200.00- 350.00. AGA's may not be practical, but when you live in a rural setting with frequent power outages, its was nice having this AGA to keep us warm and cook our food! Peace to all from the back woods folks in rural MA!
