This upper deck is 10 feet deep and offers a wonderful view over the pool at night and into the main body of the house where we entertain. I'd love to do a fire feature, but want it to offer warmth as well as ambiance. Is it possible to combine it with a waterfall? Does anyone know if you can use the pump from the waterfall to act as an air movement device/ blower in conjunction with a fireplace? It seems that a long narrow fireplace would not block the views, possibly be open in the middle so that the flames can be seen from the house. We have propane, so can use that. Wood flames may get too big. Ideas? Experiences? Unforseen cost issues? The deck around the pool needs redone, so we would like to do both of these projects at once.
