That's very funny saltcitybabe, I always think if I ever got new cabinets they'd be a medium maple, if not white. Alas, despite the 1978 color choice made by the previous owner, our cabinets are only about 8 years old and there are a lot of them. I can't justify the cost of ripping them out, but painting them, maybe.

tregli70 I went to your link and saw the mocha planks. Are they tile or laminate?
@Saltcitybabe Laminate but not at all cheap lookng. Theyre luxury laminate and are very nice quality. No regrets.

For my current basement kitchen I found Emser Tile with a similar look in 6 x 24 size. This came in 8 colors with one that looks similar to your floor.

Timeless beauty! I could relax there....

Were the coffered ceilings already there (I'm assuming they were)? We have 12' and 10' ceilings on the 1st floor and I was thinking about adding them in. Beams will be white and inlays will be black.

What is the off-white color in the middle of the wainscotting?

Beautiful job.what color paint did you use?

This is much more than a paint job....what clever design. I especially love the bird wall and the mix of textures & colours. I think this is one of my favourite Houzz rooms. Wish you could polish my home.

@joanfigueroa I used Benjamin Moore Pale Smoke.

@joelmarshall yes the coffered ceiling were already there. Totally get them!

Where is your kitchen? I tried to look at it but don't see it.

@nikawareham The kitchen is opposite of where you are looking. I stood from the kitchen to take the picture if that makes sense.

Where did you get the sofas? Are they slip covered? You did a fabulous job, its a gorgeous family room!

Great job; where did you get your shutters from? I didn't find it mentioned in previous posts, unless I missed it. I have some unique custom windows that would look great with plantations.

This is an outstanding and inspired transformation! Congratulations on a perfect job. I love the fact that you used a fresh and unusual combination of bone and egg shell blue against contrasting white shutters and wainscoting. Wonderful with the floor too. The whole effect is so pretty! I agree, you should become a designer if you are not already one!
