The wall color looks gray and cold to me, unlike the warm kitchen. I'm wondering if that is why the backsplash options aren't looking right to you?

I should note that we've considered doing a stenciled backsplash if we can't seem to find the right design/color combination in tile. If anyone with stencil experience has any input I would love to hear it!

The wall color is Olympic Gray Beige. It looks more like the color of chocolate milk in person. We tried to pick a color that would cooperate with the open floor plan we have and work well in all main living areas of our house - kitchen, dining room, living room (and hall).

I am especially concerned with the paint color being true because you said it looks like the color of chocolate milk and I am seeing lots of lavender in the color. The color I used was the one you specified in your question.

Given the above, these are the various backsplashes I think would bring out the drama in your kitchen (if that is what you want) :) I like the Crave Truffle subway (1st photo) the best because it is textured and it looks like the color can be found in your granite. It gives you some drama but is still very simple.

Yellow River, I believe. If not, it is still in the same color family.

Gray Beige is the correct color. It does look different in person, I can assure you. And lighting changes it, like with most colors. Our condo has minimal lighting, so it seems darker in our space.

Oh I believe you! Last week one of the posters had green carpet and it looked blue in the lighting (many of us commented on it). It is very tough to tell the actual color between the space lighting and the computer monitors :) That's why you see the suggestion to get a sample paint it on a board and move it about the room during different times of the day and night so you can see the actual color in your room before committing to a paint or tile color.

I think a gray or white subway tile would work nice... busy countertop so, best to keep it as simple as possible.

A light tan/cream travertine tile would look nice .. or as specialty doors suggested, a white or gray subway tile. Both of these choices would be economical as well.

We bought a sample white glass mosaic and didn't like how it looked alongside our white appliances. We thought about trying a tan next, something to pull in the floor tile and wall color. I agree - a simple statement is the look to go for!

Maybe this? It has a muted variation of colors that would blend well. I think anyway - may still be too busy! Also, I think the stretched look of it might make help our kitchen look a bit bigger.

You have gold undertones in your granite that I can see. Choose one colour from your granite for the splash back. Keep it plain and simple, otherwise it could look too busy and whatever you do don't add another pattern in the splash back or it could end up looking like patchwork. Just my opinion I hope it helps.

I think the name of your granite is solarius ?

It could be. I just picked it out because I liked the look. My husband could probably tell the specifics.
