Need ideas help for redesign of 1980's dome home

I am not sure where/which rooms to start. I live in a geodesic home(buckminster fuller) built in 1980. My husband has known the house ever since he was a child. We are on a strict budget and want to modernize the house wherever we can. It looks very plain. Maybe the pics will help. I will post more later.
