I see this hall as a mini art gallery. You have already started with some interesting art. I'd add a few more art in black frames and paint the walls a light neutral = repeating a neutral color in one of the arts. I'd hang only art and no mirrors.

Accentuate the pretty curve in the opening with a stencil (maybe chocolate brown), around the curve and to the floor:

I really like the colors you've chosen with the chair rail. I think you run the risk of this hallway becoming very dark with that choice, however. I think it is the perfect opportunity to introduce a wall sconce. Have you considered that? Also, have you considered wallpaper? Paintable wallpaper, whether painted or just hung in white, can be nice for small spaces like this.

Put a striped wallpaper vertically of horizontally.

I agree that the chocolate brown may be too dark, but if you really like this colour, leave the borders around the doors etc. white which will break up the colour. A warm neutral shade would be good otherwise, white maybe a little to stark for the hall.

Leave the Brown in the other room. Add natural grass cloth wall covering to the hall. These are available in lots of colors and some feature reflective threads woven into them. Keep it light and natural to work off the Brown paint.
