Can Cedar Shingles be painted? They are from 1960's! Very dark and ugly. If yes-would it be better to use a dark or light color-in terms of durability - Our weather is 4 seasons Rain Snow Sun Wind etc. also I have awful asthma-is there a paint that would be better in terms of smell, Vapors? Should I expect smells to enter my home? A professional will be doing the work. Thank you
