Which mirror should I hang above the fireplace?

I have 2 starburst mirrors , one with colorful gem stones and one in antique bronze finish . The bronze one does not stand out against the white wall, and seems to be a bit small. but I like the shape better than the gem stone mirror. I have been struggling over a week now.thanks pals! Any suggestion will be welcome. Or， maybe a mirror in gold tone will stand out more against white walls? Pls excuse the boxes I stacked under the mirror.

I like the one with the clear stones. The colorful one has a retro look to me, and doesn't seem to fit the look of the space. The other one makes an elegant statement, I think!

The gemstone one is out because it is oddly, just a little wider than the framed out portion on which it is placed.

For things to look good, they need to "fit".

The bronze one fits very nicely and I think stands out well. With the limited information I have, I think it works very well.

That being said, I cannot make a decision in a vacuum. Would need to see more what style you are looking to achieve and the rest of the room.

I prefer the colourful sunburst. I love how it is works with the paint colour behind it, the contrast of a circular pattern against the grid, and especially because it "thinks" out of the box. Deliberately breaking the boundaries of the panelling.

I like the clear ... But by the picture it looks lost. (to small) the fire place looks like it is tall.

Like pic 3...which is a better fit for the panel above fireplace...need to find some great sconces for the side panels...perhaps something tall and maybe a mirror behind each...for more light reflection...

I agree with Hummingbird Designs. The scale looks somewhat small. It's hard to know, though, without some distance-perspective. How high does the space above the mantle go? Maybe, you need three mirrors, stacked on top of each other. If you did that (if that looked like a good arrangement), I like the clear better...

Would you consider painting the areas inside the trim on the fireplace? You could do the wall color or a richer accent color to give some additional interest.....

Thank you everybody for your input. Sorry I gave you a hard question due to lack of information. I will try to upload some pictures showing how tall the mantle is and the spaces next to the fireplace. Have a great weekend everybody!

The coloured gemstone mirror makes the fireplace.
The first option is beautiful but needs a dramatic wall colour to help it stand out.

Tall fireplaces, such as yours with architectural details can be treated in many different ways. It really is personal choice.

The fireplace could be considered a piece of art in itself/nothing on the wall or mantle shelf/ a very minimalist approach. Or, nothing on the wall and a few accessories on the mantle/one piece of art hung low/stacked art.

I would use the one with the clear stones - just because it is a better spacial fit. You can bring in some color on your mantel. Perhaps a clock or a decorative box on one end and 3 pieces of pottery of varying heights on the other.

I too prefer the one with the clear stones. You might add clear cut glass vases with trailing ivy or fresh flowers to bring color, softness, and curves to the space. In addition, the clear cut glass would enhance the light and glimmer of the clear glass stones and reflect light in the room., A mantel scarf in a tapestry design or print with metallic gold in it, draped slightly over the front edge, would accentuate the gold tones in the mirror frame and add to the soft features.
