Hi swanade, I think your rug choices are beautiful! Any one of these rugs would look perfect in your room. I am mabe leaning more toward the first two of the Ikea rugs, but that is just personal preference. The second Ikea rug especially, with the raspberry pink in its pattern, is a fresh and modern color that would look fantastic with your blue sofa. You could carry the dark pink color a little further into the room with a few sofa pillows that have this color in their pattern. Whichever rug you choose, definitely go with a patterned one!

A glass top coffee table,would work best in your small-ish space, and would allow the rug's pattern to be seen better. Oval works well in small spaces and no banging your knees on corners, and would also echo many of the rug patterns from your links - the florals and circular ones. A rectangular table would also look fine too.

You have a lovely space there. Good luck with your rug decision!

Have you considered an ottoman?

Hadn't really thought about an ottoman, but I'll start looking and see if I can find anything that interests me. It would also help with extra seating. Thanks for the suggestions. Still debating on the rugs. They are all so different and I like them all for different reasons.

Yes pattern in rug with color of sofa in it. Then add pillows to sofa mixing up patterns and colors. 6x9 should work for rug. A round coffee table go modern 24" Glass with black base would work. Check on line for ideas.

I like #4 or 8. FYI: JC Penney has a bunch of "mid-century" styled coffee tables on sale right now that would probably go well. I liked this one....

I would go for a rectangular coffee table. No need to break up the angles, a rectangular shape will keep your room looking more uniform and calmer.

I've seen some of the rugs in person and I'm starting to worry that I've selected things with too much pattern and they will overwhelm my space (or just my eye).

That said, I went and looked at the CB2 rugs yesterday and I've added 2 new rugs in the mix. I brought home samples of 2 rugs which you can see in the 3rd pic - but they are soo tiny, it's hard to tell.

I'm starting to think the Marquee Chindni Rug from CB2 ( http://www.cb2.com/all-rugs/rugs/marque-chindi-rug/f9676) might be too overpowering.

Thoughts? Preferences?

Your mom weighs in - I am no designer, but I love the rug with the circles. But i wouldn't want to cover it with a large coffee table, maybe a smaller one off to the side? I just noticed the blue Turkish evil eye on the table in the foreground.... maybe that shape is what i see reflected in the rug with the circles.

I'm visualizing a Kilim rug w fringe and a big pouf with a tray on top for your coffee table. Warm and jewel tones in the rug tying in your couch color.

It's Carmen - I really like the Ikea rug with the reddish circles on the cream area rug...it will give your room some of the round geometric shapes to balance the sharp/straight lines/angles. I think that you should stick with a rectangular shaped coffee table (or two cube shaped coffee tables) in order to maintain the clean lines and open space.
My second choice is your latest choice - CB2's triangle area rug. The shapes and the colours work well in your space...

Here's the other. Keep in mind that I'm only guessing sizes. Could be totally off. So that's something you need to think of. Also, how comfortable does the rug feel underfoot.
