From what I've read, maple is extremely hard to get to take stain as it's so hard. I would contact a local flooring store to see if they can do it.

I find that whenever a client tries to match a floor with another floor in close proximity, they seem to glare their differences... It is strange that the eye will accept a two dramatically different floors, but a subtle mismatch seems to be the first thing they notice... And unless you get an exact match, it never looks good.Maple is one of the more dense woods and thus does not take to stain nicely - in fact it may end up being blotched in some places....Why not look at a large rug instead?

The Maple is going to be the harder of the two to stain. You may want to stain the oak to a complimentary colour (a few steps darker) than the maple and then leave them alone. It is possible to stain the two...but you would have to have a long-time professional come in and do several test colours from which to choose. S/he would then go ahead and stain the floors that colour. S/he will most likely have to use two different colours/stains to achieve the single "look" you are hoping for. This will be very finicky = expensive.
