What a fabulous room! I would pull all the furniture towards the centre of the room - they have everything pushed up against four walls and it looks non inviting and can't be too conducive to entertaining. Create a conversation area that allows you to watch television too. There's no rule against putting a flat weave wool rug in the centre of the room over the wall to wall carpet to ground the space. Can't really grasp how the kitchen might have a view of the FP since I'm assuming it is somewhere under and behind the staircase. If that is your priority, you'll want the installer to tilt the set forward for a less than neck breaking view from the seating. You have room for a sectional or two sofas in an "L" here, plus a pair of chairs. Consider placing a tall piece of casegoods opposite the FP as a counterbalance on that wall.
