Sorry about the 1st pic.....the current dining table that you see will be replaced with a smaller one to create a "kitchen nook". That is why there will also be a formal dining area. It seems closed off to me with that wall(behind the stove) there and inconvenient to get to the patio where the grill is.

but you will only be taring down half the wall, unless you want to get into moving gas lines. I think you would be giving up a lot of cabinet space just for a pass through.

try painting it a beige tone to lighten up the space.

We just bought the house and will be repainting walls a light grey and cabinets white. I thought I'd move the cabinets to another wall in the kitchen area.

Did you end up taking the wall down, we were thinking of doing the same thing.

Thanks for commenting. No, we didn't. We're actually planning the kitchen re-do now and decided to just lighten up the stove wall with less cabinets and a nice vent. @goluscombe - have a great day!
