Find a fabric that incorporates both blues and have pillows made. It's a lot of blue but it can work if done right. Add creams and brown to make it more rich....or go beyond and purchase chairs with a bold transitional pattern that introduce new splashes of color but have both blues...then your gate is wide open. How daring are you?

Is the picture of the sofa taken in your old place and the room with the blue walls is your new house? If you are trying to make that sofa work with the blue walls, you are going to have to either reupholster the sofa or paint the walls, in my opinion.

I suppose it was not meant to be... I am sure it will find a nice home. Maybe I should go with my original plan, something a bit lighter

An easy solution is always to paint but if that is not an option there are plenty of ways to make this work. It's not optimal but totally doable. Good luck.

Actually that is the piece I was considering buying for my living room... I did think after bringing in some different patterns, texture and colors, the two might work... it certainly is a lovely couch... the search continues~ Thanks

A combination of a few of these as pillows, etc will bring your colors together. That table in the corner could use a square of something falling over the edges.

I agree with adding in some earthy elements to play off the wood of the couch; a beautiful combo with depth of color. Just be committed to the range of blues, earth tones, and white/silver/clear glass -- add too many more accent colors and it'll go astray. To play against it's vintage appeal, I'd envision the modern touch of your favorite photo in a sepia tone, printed on an extra large gallery wrap over the sofa. Might be cool to have a graphic artist make one element of the art piece the soft blue of the couch.

The reason the blue sofa looks so appealing in the photo is due to the soft yellow paint on the walls. This blue and yellow is a classic combination. If you love blue, you'll have to decide if you love BLUE furniture & accessories more or BLUE walls more: b/c there has to be a contrast between walls / furniture / accessories to help BLUE show to best advantage.
