Before we did this we asked our client if she fried things, cooked bacon, or anything else that would splash. We proposed a clear glass splash panel and she said no to both. Just to be safe we used an epoxy paint, so if there is splashed food, she can wipe down the wood frame and muntins as well as the glass.

I would love to do this but i do cook a great deal and would definitely have splattering.... where can I get a clear glass splash panel?

Probably needs to be custom made. I recommend tempered glass not acrylic. Check you local listings for people who make glass storm windows and/or shower doors.
