Interesting counter design at the island. What is the material? Same on both levels? How did you accomplish the "floating shelf" design for such a large area? Looks like torsion box construction, except the load capacity w/ that method would be lacking, especially if the materials are stone or quartz. Are there really no exposed corbels or brackets?
