Colleen I have an inexpensive thought for the window. There are swing out rods...with 4 you can make a panel. The panel will look tailored and you can use any fabric. You don't even have to know how to sew you can just glue or stichwitch the pockets. This will allow you to pick any fabric you can dream and keep it nice and tidy

Great idea! Im like it but still think my bathroom needs a pop of something! It is looking blah and may be due to the white fabric on the shower curtain? I'm afraid to bring in color but it is screaming for color to me.

a couple floating shelves over the toilet with some pops on it will help. you dont really need any more, the details are the charm here.

A large floor vase by the door or shower or a toiletry stand. The towel rack I showed earlier. Then you are done with that small space letting the perfection of the room shine.

I would be inclined to have a sheer embroidered shower curtain with a hint of femininity. using the same fabric on the windows.

Yes that would work very well.

I would not get a shower curtain. Just add a 32 in wide piece of glass at end of tub where shower head is. This will make your space bigger and avoid nasty germs one gets on curtains.

I'm leaning towards this toile fabric in this style. Suzanne you have been a huge help with creating a visual. Is there any way of doing this pattern on the valance for me?

I could but the visual will not give you a very good result with the sample of fabric you show me. Is there a way you can post the fabric with more pattern on it? Do you know the name of the fabric? Maybe I can look online to find a bigger sample.

It is such a small search and no name on it for my reference unfortunately.

The first photoshop I have done is using one toile I found with color and pattern that are somewhat close to your sample. It has more pattern on it. The last 2 have been done using the fabric samples you posted.

According to the blog link posted on the comment, it seems that you can etch the window to get a result like that. I think you can find Gallery glass products in Michaels stores. You may want to practice before just to make sure that the product would do a good job. I agree with Lucidos, this would look more real than a film. BTW, I prefer the style you posted above compared to the top right one posted on the October 28 comment I suggested before.

Utterly confused! I will have to make a decision soon! The glass seems too cold to me. I do love it tho.

Am I crazy to be heading backwards and reconsidering the shade look for my bathroom? I just want a finished clean look...something timeless. Do you think this is a better look (with the stick on film) than the toile valance?

The room is small. Because the shower and the window share that corner I suggest limiting the fabric to one or the other. It's easier and less expensive to do a stained glass treatment on the window then to get a glass shower enclosure.

With a tailored subtle shower curtain and perhaps a Degas or Alfred Stevens even my personal favorite Paul Peel reprint over the toilet...you're done.

Maybe you could add a plain frosted film and write a nice relevant touching text on the film with a permanent maker. It is possible that Gallery glass paint would allow you to write on the film. I am not sure which color but you could paint the frame around the window. Even though I like very much the print Lucidos posted, I would not recommend it if you do the writing on the window. It would be too much decorative accents in a rectangle shape in the room: cabinet, window and art. I would probably add a victorian towel rack like Lucidos posted on October 1 at 8:09 PM.

Since these films are very inexpensive, you could change them with a different text when you get tired of one.

Flair lighting...I've been overthinking this project since day one. It's sort of working for me tho as the more time passes by I am seeing the initial balance I wanted may be too much. I haven't been able to put my focus 100 percent on this but appreciate all the support and direction you all have provided me. I just do things once and want to make sure it's the best look for the room. Still like this fabric a lot and trying to see if it's a good choice.

I think its a great choice, and I also think that shower curtains are easier, and more frequently changed than curtains. So if it was a case of the shower curtain not going, I think that is a more easy fix than Just the right curtain. As you see the curtain more than the shower anyway.

I think I will take the plunge and go with the toile fabric and request it to be placed much higher up on the wall to create a longer look to the window. MY also ask for something like crystals Or black trim to be added to the balance.

The first one really caught my eye as it has the hardware that would pick up the knobs and the fabric is soft and feminine.

You will notice that all of them, with maybe one or 2 exceptions, are combined with heavier fabric than your shower curtain and they are not shiny.

Someone said that the toile fabric with the shower curtains will compete. Now that I see more of toile curtains, I agree with her. I think your options would be to go with a toile curtain with a heavier fabric for your shower curtains or keep your shower curtains and add the wood window covering as in picture 3 above (sorry, I don't know the term) or have a stained glass.

Personnally, if you keep your shower curtain closed all the time, I would go with wood window covering or stained glass and keep your lighter shower curtain as it make your bathroom bigger. Or if you really like the toile curtain, I would keep the shower curtain opened then this would allow you to have a bit of a heavier fabric on your shower curtains

I like the second one better and I would sew a silk ribbon on each side of the shade (inside the border). The ribbon could be similar to the one on your shower curtain but wider. Sorry if I confuse you more, I thought it was worth to show it to you :(

The photoshops make all the difference!! What I was wondering is if the toile fabric would work in the roman shade I liked that you photoshopped. I do like the white one too as it blends well in the bathroom. Interesting fabric too.

You are always going back to the toile. This is a sign. You should go with that one, it goes very well with your vanity. If you were to get it, I would do it like in the photoshop I posted on Sunday at 11:30AM because the shape remind me of the shape of your vanity. The concerns I have is that the 'flowers' in your shower curtain do not complement the toile pattern and the type of the two fabrics are too much contrasting in term of the weight and the shine. Would you consider looking at other shower curtains?

I have re-done the photoshop with the toile in a valance shape. I also could not resist to show you this one because I love birds. The 2 fabrics are equivalent but I had to do it for myself and I had to show it to you. The fabric is from UK so I don't think you can it:

The combination of the fabric in your shower and the valance looks better than I thought. I might favor the birds a little bit more because for me seeing birds feel lighter than the toile.

If I were you, I would go with the toile valance for 4 reasons:

1- You love that fabric

2- It goes well with your vanity

3- After looking at it more, I find that the shower curtain and valance don't really compete. They just don't do anything to each other

4- Because the vanity and the valance are more expensive than the shower curtain, it is more important that the first 2 work well together than the shower curtain and the valance. You can always buy a shower curtain later if you get tired of your current one and you find the perfect one.

I love the light fixtures you chose. They are perfect! I don't think the shower curtain goes well with the toile window treatment. Imo, if you go with the toile, I think you should change the shower curtain.

I agree with both of you. I am thinking the same thing. The shower curtain was bought very inexpensive. I was just loving the night white soft feeling of it. Not a problem to tie in another one to go with the vanity and balance. I think I'm pulling the trigger and going with the toile in the balance style. I will see if they can mount higher than shown for the illusion of a bigger window. Is that right?

What I thought I wanted in the beginning of the process was something white and feminine to give the feel of that spa clean look. I don't think that is where I am going with this. I do love this fabric a lot but keep thinking its going to add to the brown and change the entire look.

I have seen this valance quite a few time on internet and I often went back to it. I wish I could show you the original picture but I lost the link. When I saw it the first time, did
a photoshop but because the angle of the valance in the original picture, the photoshop did not come out very good.

What I like about
this one is the shape of the valance with a
dark brown piping and the swirls in the sheer. You would need to change the
shower curtain if you were to go with that.

I have decided to continue with this style. It should be don't by end of May:). Will send pictures when completed.
