In my constant attempt to learn and understand this thing we call Home
Design, I read and see many things. In keeping with that, I ran across
some pics of some multimillion dollar estates. I post them for your
perusal. This is actually a comparison of 2 dining area, which is the only thing they seem to have alike except perhaps a view!

it is a new palace in FL, don't think it is the versailles one though

OMG - they painted the tardis, how am i going to find it in all these cabinets! Jeeves, bring the ladder quick!

Tis a pity to distract from what looks like a beautiful view with such ostentatiousness!

Will have to throw out another 139 Million to redecorate!

I like like the real castle better, but not for real life. Plus I can't stand glass topped dining tables :)

If i ever catch up with evil again i am going to suggest a tardis inspired room! Thank you mefor, it is great!

Nah louie, i would strip the house down to what i can live with use the cash to go shopping at charity thrift! lol

Imagine for some people those two rooms alone are almost a house! Anyone see the unicorn thread? or the curbless shower? i saved you seats at the curbless, proper dust up among the giants i think. And no, just cause i do not understand what they are saying is it any less funny. In the end i think they were all saying the same thing. tehehe

I'll take the FL house but that kitchen is absolutely horrid!!! I hate this Euro wanna be kitchens. Bleh. But it seems this could be easily fixed and the views are worth it.

Yeah! Give me the first kitchen! I 'll look after it hehe* I think it is such a beautiful kitchen and I like the tiles, chandeliers, cabinets and all of it plus the outside area and the view to come with it.

I could easily organize this kitchen! I would normally section my kitchen into a baking area, preparation areas for making dough or preparation for ingredients etc.. I love the kitchen, it is stunning! I wouldn't change a thing in the kitchen! You can see where the money went-such good quality :)

Unfortunately, all i see is a place where i could not even use the cabinets.

i am off in the tardis with mefor and shasha! I wonder how many worlds we can introduce the world of design too?

Many of you keep mentioning the word 'tardis' is this some new word as others besides myself are curious as to its meaning? I asked earlier about this in another thread but no reply?

It's a reference to Dr Who a tv show. The tardis is basically a phone booth that is a time machine. Tardis also can mean looks small but is large on the inside as in the show once he went in the booth it was big.

Oh and technically it's (in real life) used only for calling the police and can be used by the police as a mini police station... Though obviously no longer used these days...ok I'm done now sorry for the excessive info!

I remember watching Dr. Who in the US about 38 years ago. If I remember correctly it was on late afternoon? Haven't watched it since though see it's on a cable station.

used to be saturdays, then sundays on pbs. We now watch online cable, free, all the better.

I never knew it was in the US. I was there from 1977-2006 and never heard of it... Then moved to the UK and heard references all the time. I guess we all learned something! :-D

I'm normally a minimalist, but I kinda like the kitchen! The countertops are beautiful!

I agree tea, my basic disagreement with the kitchen is i am sure i could not open the top cabinets and i could then use only the top drawers, i also would take an hour to get across the stupid thing. Plus the question remains, how long before the state sinks? that is a lot of weight and not the first monstrosity.

The new castle, if only the floors weren't so that I don't dare to step on them...

Shame they didn't have money for someone to hang that chandelier on a decent height.

Someone wrote that these two rooms are almost a house to someone. Almost so. For most people in the world that kitchen/dining area is More space than they have in their entire house of eight people. And their 'house' costs 1,000 dollars, top.

We are living in a very weird world with very weird people in it.
