A Garden room separating garage from house proper. A repurposed tannery bench found and detailed by the architect creates this handsome room. Earthy and elemental materials are selected for the home that reference the barn without directly mimicking it. Wooden members found inside the barn and from other barns bridge ceilings and are used in floors along with rustic slate adding to a sense of simplicity to the farmhouse design.

Our studio designed this beautiful living and dining room with a stylish medley of soft pink pastels and elegant blues. The armchairs in the living room and printed curtains create a lively ambiance with their fun patterns breaking the neutral theme of the space. Striking artwork creates interesting focal points and urges conversations in the living room. The dining room looks elegant in soft blue hues that are soothing to the senses.

Custom designed hanging glass cabinets frame in this view of the kitchen from the dining room. Centered below the cabinets is the larger of the two kitchen islands, both were constructed with reclaimed barn wood in the herringbone pattern and granite countertops. Each island include a custom-made copper farmhouse sink. The cabinets in the rear of the kitchen are also custom-made and were constructed out of oak, while alder was used for the horizontal slats. This is an older house in Rice University that needed an updated master bathroom. The original shower was only 36" x 36". Spa Bath Renovation Spring 2014, Design, Reorganize and Build. We moved the tub, shower and toilet to different locations to make the bathroom look more organized. We used pure white caeserstone counter tops, hansgrohe metris faucet, glass mosaic tile (Daltile - City Lights), stand silver 12 x 24 porcelain floor cut into 4 x 24 strips to make the chevron pattern on the floor, shower glass panel, shower niche, rain shower head, wet bath floating tub. The walls feature a amazing wallpaper by Carl Robinson, my favorite designer! Custom cabinets in a grey stain with mirror doors and circle overlays. The tower in center features charging station for toothbrushes, iPADs, and cell phones. Spacious Spa Bath. TV in bathroom, large chandelier in bathroom. Half circle cabinet doors with mirrors. Anther chandelier in a master bathroom. Building a Dream Backyard When this homeowner started the design process of a new backyard, Braen Supply was immediately there to supply all the stone materials. The home was part of a new development, so the challenge was to make the home stand out while still addressing specific areas of the existing backyard, such as the steep grade. Working With the Experts Taking the steep grade into consideration, moss rock boulders were selected to create stairs down to the lower area of the backyard where the fire pit sits. The grade of the backyard also allowed for the infinity pool, full color bluestone pattern was selected as the veneer for the back wall of the infinity pool. Braen Supply chose Tennessee gray and bluestone to create a seamless transition from the front of the house to the back of the house. Although they are two different stones, they work nicely together to complete the overall design and tone of the home. It all came together and made the perfect backyard. It's hard to believe that this gorgeous master bath was once a small, dull bathroom. Our clients wanted a luxurious, yet practical bath. To accommodate a double vanity, we re-claimed space from an existing closet and replaced the lost space by adding a cantilever on the other side of the room. The material selections bring the mission style aesthetic to life - natural cherry cabinets, black pearl granite, oil rubbed bronze medicine cabinets, vessel sink, multi-color slate floors and shower tile surround.

When we imagine the homes of our favorite actors, we often think of picturesque kitchens, artwork hanging on the walls, luxurious furniture, and pristine conditions 24/7. But for celebrities with children, sometimes that last one isn’t always accurate! Kids will be kids – which means there may be messy bedrooms, toys strewn across their play area, and maybe even some crayon marks or finger-paints on walls or floors. Lucy Liu recently partnered with One Kings Lane and Paintzen to redesign her son Rockwell’s playroom in their Manhattan apartment for that reason. Previously, Lucy had decided not to focus too much on the layout or color of the space – it was simply a room to hold all of Rockwell’s toys. There wasn’t much of a design element to it and very little storage. Lucy was ready to change that – and transform the room into something more sophisticated and tranquil for both Rockwell and for guests (especially those with kids!). And to really bring that transformation to life, one of the things that needed to change was the lack of color and texture on the walls. When selecting the color palette, Lucy and One Kings Lane designer Nicole Fisher decided on a more neutral, contemporary style. They chose to avoid the primary colors, which are too often utilized in children’s rooms and playrooms. Instead, they chose to have Paintzen paint the walls in a cozy gray with warm beige undertones. (Try PPG ‘Slate Pebble’ for a similar look!) It created a perfect backdrop for the decor selected for the room, which included a tepee for Rockwell, some Tribal-inspired artwork, Moroccan woven baskets, and some framed artwork. To add texture to the space, Paintzen also installed wallpaper on two of the walls. The wallpaper pattern involved muted blues and grays to add subtle color and a slight contrast to the rest of the walls. Take a closer look at this smartly designed space, featuring a beautiful neutral color palette and lots of exciting textures!
