Our client’s previous home in Hong Kong inspired the design for this bathroom. The designer chose blue herringbone tile to signify spaces with water. We also added playful koi fish wallpaper. The tub surround is made of marble, and the shower features marble components. The mirror is custom, with a walnut frame and a small ledge. This home belongs to a lovely couple in Chestnut Hill.

The homeowners of this California Cottage wanted a beach vibe in their 1700 sq. ft. home. They wanted to make the most of their spaces by widening doorways, adding wood floors throughout the house, and adding a skylight. The result is cozy, casual California living at its best with frequent family dinners and celebrations with friends. A kids' wing boasts a colorful playroom, a butterfly-themed bedroom, and a bath. The parents' wing includes a home office for two (which also doubles as a guest room), two walk-in closets, a master bedroom & bath. A family room leads to a gracious living/dining room for formal entertaining. A large eat-in kitchen and laundry room complete the space. Inside the man cave is a hidden gem of colorful finishes and patterns. Marimekko Pieni Tiara Blue wallpaper blends seamlessly with the Amazonite quartzite drop edge countertop from the Stone Collection. The floating peppercorn stained maple Ultra Craft cabinets with exposed Jalco chrome plumbing allows a more spacious feeling than a typical vanity. Top Knobs Kingsbridge pulls in an Ash Gray finish bring a masculine yet tailored style to this bath. The oak hardwood floors continue from the den to create warmth and continuity. In the shower we used Crossville Tender Gray 4”x10” in a brcklay pattern on the walls, Uptown Glass Frost Moka 1” hex mosaic tile on the floor and shampoo niche, and for the vanity sink, we installed a low vessel Kohler Inia Wading Pool in the Ice finish, and paired it with the Brizo Rook single handle faucet in chrome. The shower fixtures are also from the Brizo Rook collection.

ATIID collaborated with these homeowners to curate new furnishings throughout the home while their down-to-the studs, raise-the-roof renovation, designed by Chambers Design, was underway. Pattern and color were everything to the owners, and classic “Americana” colors with a modern twist appear in the formal dining room, great room with gorgeous new screen porch, and the primary bedroom. Custom bedding that marries not-so-traditional checks and florals invites guests into each sumptuously layered bed. Vintage and contemporary area rugs in wool and jute provide color and warmth, grounding each space. Bold wallpapers were introduced in the powder and guest bathrooms, and custom draperies layered with natural fiber roman shades ala Cindy’s Window Fashions inspire the palettes and draw the eye out to the natural beauty beyond. Luxury abounds in each bathroom with gleaming chrome fixtures and classic finishes. A magnetic shade of blue paint envelops the gourmet kitchen and a buttery yellow creates a happy basement laundry room. In this farmhouse inspired bathroom there are four different patterns in just this one shot. The key to it all working is color! Using the same colors in all four, makes this bath look cohesive and fun, without being too busy. The gold in the accent tile ties in with the gold in the wallpaper, and the white ties all four together. By keeping a neutral gray on the wall and vanity, the eye has time to rest making this bath a real stunner!
