Light fills every room of the house; the living room absorbs light from two sets of French doors, each of which leads to a wrought-iron balcony. To keep light from disappearing once it enters the living room, Kevin chose simple, creamy white upholstery. Dark accents, such as textured pillows, a mahogany coffee table, and an antique dresser, offer the perfect balance. Each rooms balances modern and traditional pieces; a travertine-top iron table mixes with a 200-year-old Martha Washington Chair. Ample room size and stately 9 1/2-foot ceilings give the living room a dramatic flair. A feeling of height definitely adds to the feeling of spaciousness. When you're on a city lot and space is in short supply, you have to be extra creative.

This two storey Austrian masonry heater is fired once a day and heats the log home for more than 24 hours per firing. The fire is made downstairs and passes through almost 12 meters(39') where it protrudes into the main living area where it is clad with hand made ceramic tiles(Kachel) that are specifically produced for use in Austrian masonry heaters. These tiles and the rest of the material used in the units production are designed to absorb the heat from the fire and slowly radiate it outwards

This master bathroom was completely renovated and expanded to reflect the airy, eclectic-modern design aesthetic we were implementing throughout the rest of this client’s home. Their existing master bath had luxurious finishes, but was a cramped and small space with a disadvantageous layout. By breaking through walls and absorbing a second bathroom behind the master, we were able to create an open, ample layout that offered the features these clients sought - a generous and bright space with a two person shower, a soaking tub, and separate vanity areas with plenty of storage. Soler Architecture converted the two-story guest wing of the owner’s residence into a working professional sound studio.

Having shown the sample board in the prior photo, you now see the finished knockdown texture effect using an Allegheny Brown tinted clay plaster. Notice the mirror is reflecting the sueded leather effect of the other three surrounding walls that were also troweled with the same tinted clay plaster. Since clay plaster "breathes" it absorbs humidity resulting from a running shower, but gradually exhausts that moisture so it's not prone to mildew typical of most bathrooms, yet another benefit of this natural, "eco" green plaster.
