I would love some advice from the Houzz community. I have brought home several rugs to try to define the lounge area, but not one has seemed right. I have tried ultra modern, contemporary and abstract. There have been pale coloured ones and others with bright patterns, but as we live a fair way from the shops, this is all getting very frustrating! I think the rug needs to be 3m x 2m. In this photo we have removed the glass coffee table to show the area more clearly. Can anyone suggest the right style to tie our open plan living space together? Any suggestions would be welcomed. As you can see, the ceiling is very high and the room gets a lot of light.

The boy’s plan is to abruptly exit the surface of our planet into the atmosphere for an enjoyable ride. Where his large umbrella will naturally open, bringing the boy gently back down to earth. Sounds like a wonder and well thought out plan, don’t you think? From composition to the bright colors, it takes a while to digest everything in this painting. There are many details to be discovered, from the baking sheet on the trash can, to the nails on the stump, even obvious things like the blue and red grass takes a while to digest. Which makes this painting so rich. The painting boldly mixes the abstract with realism. From the grass and bright yellow sky, to the boys face, shirt and shoes.
